As a point of reference I installed the Touratech skid plate last week and it came with a 12" x 8" piece of rubber with self-adhesive that you place on the bottom tray. I've heard no increase in sound with that install. I'm sure you'll solve your issues with a little trial & error!

Haven't found much info on the Touratech crash bars. Anyone have any feedback on going down with these? Also do you need to pull the bars to service anything under the side covers? Am interested in getting some crash bars I don't need to remove to service the bike.
