    Heated Seat Concept

Kurgan's right. It was within a few dollars of $200. You can find other options, a good share of them less than $100, but it was the controller that finally made me spring for this one.

    Heated Seat Concept

Hi All- I haven't seen this anywhere else, so thought I would post. Two new adventures for me: 1) I've never covered and stapled my own seat before. I found it's more intimidating to think about than to actually do. 2) I've never spent a couple hundred dollars on a new seat and immediately...

Rear drive maintenance at tire changes

Just wanting to update some old experiences. Some had used a 1/2" all thread rod coupler from Lowes/Home Depot to remove their front and rear axles, and then for awhile people were reporting that the couplers didn't fit anymore. I picked up a " 1/2"-13x1-3/4 Coupling Nut" in an orange bag...

    New Owner- a few questions...

Here's another grateful customer of Mid-Ohio Yamaha. Jason went above and beyond for me last November. I wanted a '14 Matte Gray ES, and I had called about 15 dealers in Ohio and 4 states surrounding me. No luck, nothing. Then Jason found one- in New Jersey! And he was willing to go get it...

    Re-shaped Stock Seat

Thanks for the nice write up and ride report. Very helpful, both to see what was done and how to do it. Thanks! ::012::

    Speed Bleeders and the S10

Thanks for that. On the steel banding cover, what did you do? Just cut a small square of banding and lay it over the port?

    Speed Bleeders and the S10

This is great information, especially in light of my one and only frustration with Yamaha. That is the need to standardize! 4 bleed screws on the bike; 3 different sizes- why?!? Anyway, thanks TomZ for the info. I have a 2014, which was the year Yamaha changed some things on the bike. I'm...

Free Owner's Manual as pdf from Yamaha UK

I link to the manuals page, but can't interact with it. Maybe Yamaha is changing it?

    Another Heated Grip Question!

This is similar to the advice I received. I'm not saying these instructions won't work, but they didn't for me. I started with compressed air, working from different points, both on the right side and left side of the left grip. Pretty soon I was also using a small flat bladed screw driver...

    Another Heated Grip Question!

Looking at the post date, this may be too late, but don't un-package your new grips yet. Yes, that left one is a bear to get off, but I didn't destroy mine.

World Crosser Decal sets ANY COLOR

How 'bout just the 4 wheel stripes in bright red? And don't you have 2 of the stripes facing the wrong direction, or is that how it's done?

Front wheel free on the centerstand

With the bike on the center stand, it's the rear wheel that's in the air. What are you doing to put the front wheel in the air? I grab the front wheel with my hands and lift it, and at the same time, I kick a 2x4 under it. Then I get a 2x2 and prop it under the engine. Finally, I go back and...

    Protaper evo "Adventure bars"

Thanks Defekticon. This "windex" is intriguing. Why does it even work? Does it dry sticky? Why windex over hairspray? I'll have to try it. The only reason I wouldn't like it is if it comes loose, then I can try something else! ::025::

Is it hard on your bike to run it out of fuel on purpose?

Don't think this would be dependable information. There's always small low spots or other areas where fuel puddles and can't get to the fuel drain. This is referred to as "unusable fuel" and every tank has some. On a different bike, I had run the tank dry before I pulled it to do some other...

    Protaper evo "Adventure bars"

Appreciate you sharing that- I had been thinking about trying to get the grip started by pushing an old feeler gauge between the bar and the grip, and then following up with the compressed air- Is that a good idea or a bad idea?

Thanks. I'm going to order my bars tonight. ;D

    Protaper evo "Adventure bars"

How do you go about getting the left grip off? I've got the '14 es with the grip heat, and I really don't want to mess that up. I haven't changed grips since I was a kid, and then we did it by cutting them off.
