    S10 as a touring bike?

I had a 2007 FJR. After buying a 2013 Tenere the FJR never got ridden. At the time, I was 60 yo, 6-1" and 220 pounds. My legs would cramp up while riding the FJR, something that has never happened on the Tenere. The tenere was far more comfortable for short rides to long tours than the FJR was...

    Key programming with immobilizer

I am glad I found this thread. I bent one of my 2013 Super Tenere keys in the luggage box lock, so I got a spare from Yamaha. Following instructions I found online, I got the new key to start the engine, but then the old non-bent key wouldn't work any more. I tried so many things to sort it out...

    Start trouble

I have had this issue and for the same reason. I started the bike and shut it off without letting it warm up. I tried multiple times to start the bike but no luck. My brother is a GM mechanic and he suggested holding the throttle wide open while holding the starter. It cranked over a few...

    Madstad bracket and windshield

I have a madstad on my 2013 with a Givi windscreen and the side deflectors. It works well, with no buffeting. I can ride at highway speed with my visor up with no wind or buffeting. I am happy with this setup. Phil

End of my rope: unbearable noise and/or turbulence

I am 6'-1" with 32" inseam on 2013 S10. This works for me: -Madstad bracket -Givi windscreen -yamaha side wing thingies. With earplugs or noise cancelling ear buds, I am in the quiet zone with no buffeting even at highway speeds. It took a bit of moving the screen/bracket around to reach...

    Fuel gauge calibration

When it comes to fuel, it is always better to be looking at it than looking for it.

    Moving On... To an FJR

I am in the one of each camp. I have a 2007 FJR (the fastest colour) and a 2013 ST which I bought last fall. I initially thought I would ride each for a while and decide which to keep, but it is now looking like I will be riding both. Besides, my wife says the FJR is the best bike I have ever...

Built-in grab handle for center stand!

it is far easier to put the Tenere on the centerstand than my 2007 FJR!

    New Canadian Member

Hi, I am in Ancaster. I am new here and to the Super Tenere as well; I bought a gently used 2013 with 13,000 km in October. I got out for a few hours riding yesterday with the unseasonably warm weather. I think it was about 350 km.

Headlight adjustment, only a phillips screwdriver needed

To use the Phillips screwdriver to adjust the headlight I couldn't get it to work either trying to insert it straight in from the bottom (let's call this 90 degrees from horizontal). To get it to work, I had to insert the screwdriver at about a 45 degree angle from horizontal and it worked...

Direct replacement for the cigarette adapter on the ST

I just put a powerlet on the left side of the bike to use my heated vest. I put it on the top, flat part of the plastic panel closest to the rider's knee. I was an easy install and looks good. Phil

Headlight adjustment, only a phillips screwdriver needed

I just bought a 2013 Tenere with 13,000 km. The first time I rode at night almost all of the oncoming vehicles were flashing their lights at me on low beam and on high i had a great view of the tree tops. i have no idea how the previous owner rode it that way. He was a few inches taller than...
