Just got my new BUMOT Panniers with tool box

RoboCop......expect you will really like Bumot quick release plate attachment for top box. Never seen a stronger and secure (think security) mounting yet is easy to remove. ::26::

Just got my new BUMOT Panniers with tool box

Hello everyone. I have Touratech Zega Pro side and top cases on my ST. Good quality. Only real problem has been tendency for top case to rattle (is the rapid release type). On my F700GS I decided to go with Bumot side cases, tool box and top case from Jason. First class quality and service...

Bluetooth Headset. What would you recommend?

Hello everyone. A word of caution on the Sena 20S. Got my first pair in July of 2014. Our riding group tried 20S units on a long cross Europe to Turkey and back across Greece and Italy to Spain. Very unsatisfactory performance. Overall unreliable even for basic intercom and bike to bike...

    Help for International Trips

Thanks ChecksWrecks for the good summary. Dogdaze and TimLaw..........seems to be zero tolerance in Switzerland. Especially on having current road tax stamps on motorcycles. Tumer......helpful website for Turkey. At end of August we met three riders from Istanbul in Sibiu Romania. Very...

    Escape from DC

Hi Trevor.......hear you on the Michoacan situation. Lets hope that all ends well. Glad to hear you are going to the HU meeting and getting to take in the falls. It is a treat. Walking the catwalks on the Brazil side (helicopter if you have extra bucks). Also super and even more wet by Zodiac...

    which GPS?

Have had very good experience with the Garmin Zumo 550. Takes a lot of punishment and is ruggedly built. Maybe I just like old things.......like Mapsource. ::025:: ::025::

Stuck in Andalusia, Alabama with dead ST

Agree that it sounds like bad fuel, or fuel pump not maintaining proper pressure. Clogged fuel strainer worth a check too. Good luck and please let us know the result.

Conti Trail Attack rear with TKC front?

Trev........have seen a TKC front with a lesser gripping rear on a TX bike in the Copper Canyon in Mexico on the dirt and gravel roads there. Can't vouch for it myself (never tried it) but the owner thought it was an ok idea. That said, if budget allows I would put equivalent rubber on back...

    Escape from DC

Know how you feel about the upside down temperatures and gear packing. Rode in Chile, Bolivia and Peru in early August and rode in minus 8 degrees C by day and outside temperatures at night of minus 20 degrees C. The good news was that at least it was dry! Always look on the bright side of...

    Best tire repair system??

Another vote here for the gummy strings and a high quality pump combo. The steel cords on Metzler Tourance as an example do tend to destroy foam plugs much easier where the hole comes up against the steel. The gummy worms work best for the trickier punctures such as where the nail or whatever...

    Long Distance Advice

OKState.......when the wind blows and hard I take that as a practice opportunity. The more you ride in it and study the winds coming over various types of terrain and how they affect your chosen bike the better it gets. Now riding all day in 100 kph winds coming from any quarter is not...

metzeler tourance exp like or hate?

Have had Metzler Tourance (normal/original blend) and EXPs on a number of bikes now. For a road tire I prefer the Tourance normal over the EXP for the longer life, especially the rears. Metzler is coming out with a newer generation of the Tourance (newer than the EXP's which they say will have...

    Escape from DC

Great reading Trevor. Glad the bikes were well wrapped for the boat trip. Other poor souls in the past haven't done this and ended up with electrical problems. eg. on BM's the ECU portion of the ABS modulator packs up and no ABS brakes or worse. Glad to be along for the ride. ::001::

    Badlands Vs. Latitude 840 Review

Thanks Bloodline.....Excellent review of the Badlands. Agree with everything that you found. Haven't tried the Latitude but have had a long tour in the Klim Adventure Rally suit in CA. The latter suit is built like a tank. It's internal harness is great. Tons of pockets if that is what you...

    Excel Throttle Control?

I have tried KAOKO and Go Cruise throttle controls on my S10. Neither did the trick for me. Looking forward to my Excel unit. Everyone has their preferences so buy what you like.
