    Cell phone handlebar mounts

Nice reviews, Tweak. I second the disdain for the Portrait video, though. ::010:: While it is exclusive for iPhones, the Topeak Ridecase is the best design of moto phone mount I've run accross. It is a two-part deal with a case for your phone, combined with a handlebar mount for your bike...

Interested in a Super Tenere, but....

I'm going to second the "lack of experience" but change it to "this type of throttle response" rather than "this bike". The previous bike I owned was a '99 Hayabusa which had a similar off-idle-snatch. Scared the Cheezus out of me when I first "inherited" it (for $8k) from my Dad. However, I...

S10 World Crosser with Rossi and Lorenzo?

So I found this post on Yamaha's Twitter, with pictures of a gorgeous S10. Blue and silver looks so good! So far it looks pretty simple: S10 Worldcrosser Factory crash bars with alt lights Tall windscreen Givi Trekker Outback bags Only thing that I see that I haven't seen before is that...

Do you use a tank bag ?

I personally run a Wolfman Explorer Lite. It is a great quality bag, sturdy mounting, never gotten wet inside in heavy rain, and if you expand it out, can hold a gallon of milk. I also carry around a backpack-style strap for it, so I can explore off the bike with my hands free. As for ease of...

    Trade for yellow bodywork?

I'm not unhappy with the Grey with the red and white world-crosser kit (most of it) I have on mine. I just have loved the yellow since Kenny Sr. Nostalgic. I'd probably be equally in love with a Geneva green color like the old RD400 my dad raced back in the day. =-]

    Trade for yellow bodywork?

So I just found the 2016 yellow & black S10... http://www.yamahamotorsports.com/sport/models/2016/super-tenere How pretty is that? Will trade 2014 S10 ES grey body work. http://www.yamahamotorsports.com/sport/models/2014/super-tenere-es Somebody's gotta dislike the yellow? COME ON!

    Crash Bars Crash Tested?

I've had the AltRider crash bars down at ~15mph into soft sand. No damage, no noticeable bending. Protected everything like they're supposed to. I also run the AltRider bash plate, with pretty good luck so far. I've bounced it off a few tall curbs, and it doesn't show anything. I would...

Stock top box and windshield question.

If you're going to play with it, play with it at the dealership. That way, if you break it, it's their problem. ::025:: I'd also highly recommend a dealership that will let you take it for a spin. It's a different kind of bike from anything I'd ridden (including my Hayabusa), and the...

Stock top box and windshield question.

My Shoei RF1200 in XL fits fine in the top box, though I usually defer to using a bicycle cable lock to lock up my helmet and jacket (through the arms of the jacket, then through the chin bar). It works pretty well for me, and keeps me from lugging around a jacket in the AZ heat.

Mounting a Car GPS or Smart Phone on the Tenere & Handlebar Pouch

If you have a phone that works with it, I cannot recommend the Topeak Ridecase enough. It has a very slim design, and has a physical attachment to the bike. Clipped in rather than the spring-arms on the RAM mount. I use the RAM mount in my car, but on the bike I prefer the hard mount. You...

2014+ Rox 2" Risers (Would you buy again?)

At 6'5" with a 32" inseam, I was unable to adequately control the bike while standing before I put the risers on. Now, it is much more comfortable, but I may add a bit more lift with taller bars in the future, we shall see. I did learn a few lessons, though: #1, the AltRider method/kit for...

    Helmet Color

Having ridden in Phoenix AZ (90-120 degrees F) quite a bit in both a Shoei TZ1 Shogun (mostly black with red and silver designs) and my white Shoei RF1200, I can say that sitting still, I really notice the color difference. It was the difference between sweat running down my neck compared to my...

    Replace clutch line with extension?

@Texasten I actually was using a flare nut wrench, and still stripped it. Had a wrench friend pop the second pair loose, and he guessed it was at ~40 ft lbs on that nut. Not surprising it stripped to hell and back.

    Replace clutch line with extension?

@Andylaser Thanks! I actually called Jaxon before I posted and left him a message. @EricV Actually, in my tiny little town, the only result for "Hydraulic Host" in Google Local is Walmart.

    Replace clutch line with extension?

I was able to get the line off with cutting it. Had to put the 10mm side into the vice to crack it loose. Then the wrench hurt my hand as it snapped loose. No bueno. I also couldn't get the lower connection (from hard line back to rubber) until it was off the bike, and had about the same...

    Replace clutch line with extension?

So yeah, I mangled the nut on the hard line up under the tank (actually used a flare nut wrench) :'( Not sure what more I could have done, but that's in the past. Moving forward, is there a kit for doing a full-length replacement of the clutch line, but that has the extension built in for bar...

    ABS bleeding and failures

Re: Brake bleeding - need to flush the ABS pump too? Since Google lead me to this page after search for the ABS dongle (# 90890-03149-00 ), I figured I should point out that the dongle is no longer available. According to the dealer I bought my S10 at, there is an update to the service manual...

Does anyone have a non-farkled bike and happy?

I'm pretty happy with my '14 ES, bone stock. I rode it home from the dealership without so much as upgraded skid plate. Was so in love. I've since added the taller windshield, some AltRider kit, and the Yamaha tail box (the lady feels like she's falling off the back of every motorcycle)...

    OEM Engine Guards - $200

So I got some of that free farkle cash when I got my Tenere, and not wanting to waste it I grabbed some of the OEM engine guards (https://www.yamahapartsandaccessories.com/shop/product/details/super-t%C3%A9n%C3%A9r%C3%A9-engine-guards?b=Street+Motorcycle&d=28|28&f=2014|196&dealernumber=). Gen2 Windscreen Poll (What works for tall large riders?)

Re: 2014+ Windscreen Poll (What works for tall large riders?) At 6'5" I find the stock screen has the air hitting me in the chin, and the after-market screen hitting me right in the air vents on my RF1200. Buffeting gets pretty annoying. Haven't tried much else, though.
