is Super Tenere still a good buy today?

yeah, definitely AT would better better at pulling chicks LOL Chain is not a problem for me though. Never had shaft, this would be my first one. I would prefer ST had chain as well and be 20 kg lighter :)

is Super Tenere still a good buy today?

because it's the last new tenere in my country price is not maybe that good as I got almost the same offer for new Africa Twin Adventure Sport, just a bit higher. plus Super Tenere is 2019 and AT is 2021 :) so definitely I lose on residual value :) So what would you get if you were shopping...

honda Africa Twin will add next year 1100cc and following 800cc so yamaha must keep in touch. Why they don't do one model but good enough??

I've never used the kill switch to shut off the bike

exactly, there is absolutely no difference which you use key, kill switch or side stand. Been discussed already before.

Super Tenere vs Moto Guzzi V85 TT ?

from what I read so far Guzi are very reliable, guys done 100's kilometers without a problems. Air cooling for me huge benefit, nothing to leak and weight saving. I was concerned about dry clutch but it's not like Ducati clutch, it's more like car clutch, very tough.

2018 R1200GSA back to Super Tenere

that's good point, being able to afford buying GS is not the end of the story - maintaining it is the other what consist of full package. That I couldn't not justify at my income level to get a bike as expensive as my car - makes no sense, but if I sh@#$i money sure, why not have such toy...

2018 R1200GSA back to Super Tenere

exactly, cost is the main factor not the reliability etc as some trying to cheat themselves. If price were the same many would get GS no question asked, be honest at least to yourself...

are these problems cured in II generation of ST?

exactly, bad design by yamaha, not for the first time BTW. It must be very hard for engineers to foresee a water will be coming on that place LOL, students could do better. Yet they remove fender extender just to save few bucks, regardless all of older bikes had it for a reason.
