This approach worked perfectly for me.

I just pulled mine and I can tell you that you can save yourself a lot of hassle and potential damage to the clutch hub by simply putting the bike on the center stand, in 6th gear and stomping on the rear break to prevent the clutch assembly from rotating while getting the big 30mm nut off...

I've ordered too. What the hell - could be the best $40 spent ever. The price in Canada for this part is over $600 so this has to be a pricing error. Perhaps this is the motorcycling gods evening the score after what should have been a recall/free fix.
