What dirtsailor said above does work - Push down on top of the case while hooking your finger in there & turn counterclockwise - I opened a closed one with no cylinder in place exactly like that..... Good luck! Steve in KY ::017::

Added a powerlet socket by the rear footpeg bracket for charging the battery & running the electric vest....Somebody posted this idea up a few weeks ago - looked so good I had to copy it. Aluminum plate mounts to longer footpeg bolts with nut on the back to hold the plate. To keep it looking...

My bike does have the stock Yamaha air filter. Now that I think about it, the gasket could have been well down in the groove & I just didn't see it because it's recessed a bit.....I've got everything re-assembled now. I'll look it over real close the next time I open everything back up. ::021...

Hi all, Changed the spark plugs yesterday so I had the air filter off & looked things over a bit. My bike (which is a 2012 USA bike I picked up used) does not have the gaskets above & below the air filter where it fits in the airbox. Parts 13 & 14 on the intake diagram from Stadium Yamaha...

FYI....A little late to the party, just installed my wind deflectors. In the original Yamaha package I recieved the plastic screws didn't fit the wellnuts. Plastic screws were M5 X 20. Wellnut thread sized up to SAE 10-32. Picked up some stainless bolts from Lowes SAE10-32, 3/4 in long which...
