Also the left connecting rod broke, but not horizontally, vertically. Which was how the engine was still starting and running.

    Engine failure

So I was told today that 1 of the 10 clutch plates (No 6) simply disintegrated. Which then somehow was sucked up through the intake, and literally just raked havoc. The question being answered now is, was it a faulty plate to begin with, or was it inserted incorrectly! See pics.

I’m guessing at that time, prior to them stripping it down, yes it ran. There is no damage to the crank case, ( so they tell me). The song it was singing was like, the cct had snapped or came loose, and was hitting something, however that wasn’t the case. Cct intact. They even asked me if...

Thanks for this, as everyone else has stated, it’s a great video. The starting motor is in perfect condition, the bike actually fires up every time, the engine runs, just won’t go above 4000Rpm. It’s the crank rods that broke, and they can’t figure out why, how, where, what could have caused...

Yes Sir, you are correct. Yamaha Master Tech, is still scratching his head. Like I mentioned in my initial post. No issues with the oil it’s self, (2173 miles since change) apart from the shards and chunks of metal in it now. They are looking into a stress test to see if the actual parts are...

Kind of, the rods that drive them, and all cogs (Teeth) have sheered off everyone, that’s what’s caused the damage.

Update. So it appears to be the Elephant ears on the crank shaft. Both sides on each cylinder have 1 broken crank rod.
