My new clutch and Gen 2 basket is working well , BUT now after a month or so Ive develoed a rattle in overdrive . I used to be able to cruise in Top Gear around town , not anymore gets too blasted rattly , changing down to 3rd . Cardan (?),joint on drive shave is fine and everything is tight...

After doing the Upgrade, a new Yamaha Clutch Kit and basket , its like new . Gear changes down are crisp and smooth and no basket spring rattles . Cost with oil filter, about a grand AU dollars

Living in Australia I don't have a need for fuel stabilizers (well I didn't think so). What with the bushfires ,warm to bl**dy hot weather , my bike is always ready to go ,or is going 12mths of the year . I do realise that fuels deteriorate but sometime not as much as some would like to admit...

I did Gen2 OEM basket and all the plates etc . worth the money . I bought a second hand clutch basket , all the plates and goodies last year. Used this until after xmas ( all those BILLS ). Its a hours work, not hard ,it does give one an idea of how well Yamaha manufacture their bikes . Used...

Oil change and clutch cover . Make sure its on side stand not on centre stand ,do it all when oil is due for change ,simple .

It must be an Austraian model Tenere (kangarooing ) ! Good advice change basket ,get cultch kit a use Yamaha 10W-40 FULL synthetic engine oil .

I found mine had a surge ,then I took it out of Sports Mode . At age 77 , I don't do wheelies anymore ! Ah! The Golden Years

One other thing . Make sure you move the last Friction Plate ONE NOTCH to the RIGHT (as your looking at it ). Don't align it with the other plates .

Upgrade to Gen2 basket and kit at 43,k

If its idling okay ,it should be fine . BUT mine is idling like a dream, but Im still going to check them soon . 42,000k so far

Got my 2014 Basket and Kit direct from Yamaha Au . Nearly finished , fit cover in the morning ,mossies were bitting this evening .
