    xt1200 auxillary socket

I think it's this one... https://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?threads/what-you-did-to-your-tenere-today.1851/post-359579 I have a question about the actual socket <> device cable. With the position of the OE socket (upgraded or original) is there a risk of water ingress when a cable is...

    Light/Screen/Dash “wobble”

 So there was an incident with strong wind blowing bike over (cover acted as a sail). Snapped wing mirror off as it landed on fence panel, but didn’t consider anymore damage. Will have to check that side over mor thoroughly. Thanks for the pointer!!!

    Light/Screen/Dash “wobble”

I’ve noticed that I’m getting more wobble on the front when on less smooth roads. Initially I thought it was just the dash unit so figured the rubbers were tired or it needed adj. to tighten. However after a couple of Kate night journeys home from the office it’s affecting the headlamp unit...

    Changing out Spark plugs

Have had similar issue with 1x plug on check at the weekend. New plugs ordered to be swapped in this weekend. Considering new coils...are the Tourmax coils seen on eBay any good? £50 per coil cheaper than Yam. Only way I can get them cheaper is from someone line LoneStar Yamaha in US...

Rear Hugger - Which Option - Pyramid / Powerbronze / Other

This (its the Pyramid version, but the Powerbronze isn't much different): Not sure what you're referring to - perhaps rear susp. adjustment??

Rear Hugger - Which Option - Pyramid / Powerbronze / Other

Cheers Rob, I was thinking of a Shocktube at some point as well...I was leaning toward Pyramid, but wanted input from the colletive...just in case :)

Rear Hugger - Which Option - Pyramid / Powerbronze / Other

I'm finding that on the winter roads my boots are getting a lot of spray from the wet/damp roads. Thinking that a rear-hugger would combat this issue, and also help to keep the rest of the rear end a bit cleaner. Does anyone have good/bad stories of the options out there? Alternatively is...

Drive Chain "judder" / Clutch Kangarooing

UPDATE Bikes back from its 24k mile service. initial opinion is that the judder has all but gone. Per above mechanic noted some where on the springs, but nothing anymore significant. I've be paying specific attention now, and note that when cold there is the usual "clunk" as I engage 1st gear...

    Screen fixings

I can't remember directly but if the S10 uses plastic screen screws (like the TDM does) its for a reason...the design is that should you have a front impact RTI and go over the bars, the screen screws will sheer. Metal after market options will not have this "safety" feature, and could cause...

Drive Chain "judder" / Clutch Kangarooing

I ride in both modes. Tend to switch between depending on the part of my journey. As we move towards the colder months T mode will be more prominent. Going to email this thread to the mechanic for me to have a read too

Drive Chain "judder" / Clutch Kangarooing

Thanks both... I'll check with the mechanic about the blueing, and thanks for the dealer pointer. Noted. I was going to use them, but cautious now...

Drive Chain "judder" / Clutch Kangarooing

Mechanic has had the clutch basket out. Noted movement on 3x springs in the basket, and "witness" marks on these springs indicating impact at some level. He's spoken with some Yam dealers who have said this is early signs of terminal failure, but other that haven't said the same. His advise is...

Drive Chain "judder" / Clutch Kangarooing

Have to say I’ve not noticed the vibes I’ve read about, but I come from a line of TDMs so may be immune. Oil is of spec 10w40 semi. JASO MA spec.

Drive Chain "judder" / Clutch Kangarooing

Bike has developed what I can describe as kangarooing (think back to the first time you drove a manual car, and hadn't mastered clutch control). Seems to be more pronounced when cold. Bike is currently in for 24k service, and advised shop of this behaviour. Mechanic calls today and mentions...

Burning oil ? Adding oil ?

I've got a 2013 bike, just turn 24k miles on the clock. I commute to work daily. 40 miles each way. Mix ride of small back roads, major roads, and motorways, plus city filtering. I've noticed that I'm topping up ~ 250ml oil every 4wks (1600mls).

Variation on the seat mod with pictures

I made this change at the weekend, and after my first commute (40mls) I can already feel a marked difference. This makes the bike infinitely more ridable, and can totally accept that I could do an entire day in the saddle. For the UK the part number doesn't need the last "-00", and can be found...

    Headlight replacement question

I've been looking at these after getting through 5 lamps since April this year - all filament breaks no burn outs. Currently running Osram LongLife as friends have suggested micro-vibration is causing filament to break. I've previously run HID on my TDMs, but they use split H7 lamps (Lo/Hi) and...
