    handlebar vibrations solved?

I had excessive vibrations early on but they've been gone for a while. In my case I believe the following helped: 1) A TBS at factory settings with the Harmonizer 2) Pushing the engine during break-in, including a few intense rides on mountain roads nearby. I never interpreted 4K as a limit...

    LED Blinker Installatation

Can you buy the Yamaha one from a US dealer? If not, who did you use? Thanks! I think this will be my next mod ::013::

Airscrew Adjustment to fix off-idle stumble and Throttle Body Sync - w/ pigtails

Some people skipped the sync by adjusting both screws by the same amount. While that may work, it assume the TBs were in sync to start with. This was not my case. I checked the sync before touching the airscrew and theiy were off by 10-12 Mbars.

Rear End / Final Drive Oil

Re: Differential Oil Thanks for all the replies! I won't worry about replacing the oil used by the Yamaha service shop as part of the 600 mi service. As some of you pointed out (and I double checked ::)), the service manual doesn't mention the "exclusive" oil anywhere. And I have no reason to...

Rear End / Final Drive Oil

Re: Differential Oil I checked my receipt from the 600 mi service and it looks like the dealer used regular Yamalube Friction Modified Gear Oil, not the "exclusive" (and expensive) one. After I read that the V-Max, FJR and S10 all share the same shaft I am wondering if I should replace the oil...

    Leo Vince vs. Akrapovic

Jim, I'm headed out of town with the family for the weekend but will post pics after I'm back.

    Leo Vince vs. Akrapovic

In my case I did the CO adjustment a couple of weeks before I installed the LV. After I installed the LV the bike ran even better than it did before so I did not mess with CO, or anything else for that matter. In any case, as Jim suggested, I would install the Akra and ride it for some time...

    Leo Vince vs. Akrapovic

Jim, I have the Leo Vince installed, with the spacer, and it does not hit the exhaust shield. It fits the bike perfectly and the end of the muffler is parallel with the line of the heat shield. If you don't tighten the screws all the way and leave the spring disconnected you can move the...

Vibrations and Dyna PCV / Arrow header/ Leo Vince can/

::026:: I went with the Leo Vince and kept the standard header with the same (great) results reported by Blue_eyes. I've used after market slip-on's on other bikes but don't remember feeling as much of a difference as this one did to the S10 (I know, Rod, we keep tempting you!). I may still...

    S10 Owners, Feeling the Vibes?

When I brought the S10 home I remember thinking this was the tightest engine I had ever felt. I am not one to baby my bikes during break-in and take what manual says about not exceeding certain RPM levels "for prolonged" periods to heart. With the S10, I truly believe that revving up and...

Default codes and speedhealer and odometer error

Re: Default codes The ground wire is only required for US bikes if you want to access the CO setting mode. To access the diagnostic mode the procedure you posted works fine.

    Aftermarket Exhaust Options

I have been using the Leo Vince with the standard dB killer with no heat damage anywhere. If I remember correctly, the poster chose not to install the provided spacer, which changed the angle of the slip on and caused that heat damage shown in the picture. The Leo Vince is a great pipe with...

    Leo Vince vs. Akrapovic

Rod, I think this setup should work for you. You may want to consider a slip on as well. After having the LV for a few days it just feels like this is what the S10 should have had stock! As for the weather, I agree! We have some snow in the forecast in ABQ and being originally from Brazil, I...

    Leo Vince vs. Akrapovic

What I meant is that when I did my first TBS I did not follow the airscrew adjustment procedure posted on the forum (3/4 CCW). I left the painted airscrew (right) at the factory setting and synced the other one, as described in the service manual. To my surprise, the TBs were off by 10-12 Mbars...

    Leo Vince vs. Akrapovic

After a few days riding the S10 with the new Leo Vince Carbon, today I did a TBS. I hadn't done it since adjusting the CO setting and installing the slip on, and was curious to see what the Harmonizer would show. The TBs were slightly off but nothing close to the 10-12 mBars showed when I did...

    Leo Vince vs. Akrapovic

I just came back from my first ride after installing the Leo Vince and I am very, very happy with the results. It is not a loud pipe, in fact you can barely hear it on the freeway. It won't disturb the neighbors when you're riding in/out but it has a bite when you open the throttle. Compared to...

    Leo Vince vs. Akrapovic

Mission accomplished! The Leo Vince Factory Evo II Carbon Slip On w/Carbon Tip arrived yesterday and I installed it today. The installation was a breeze and the fit was perfect. The carbon pipe is the perfect color for the Raven S10. At idle the sound is a bit deeper than stock but not loud. In...
