Hi all, thanks for the opportunity to belong to this group. I am new to the Super Tenere and was fortunate enough to get one, bone stock, a few weeks ago. I already put 1K mikes in a few weeks and love it. Lots to learn and I am sure this group will be a fantastic resource

Welcome, from Joshua. Depending on your exact location down there, there's some fantastic riding over by Kerrville. May or may not be close to you.

Thanks Joshua. I live west of Houston. Kerrville is west of San Antonio for what I can see. This is an area that I definitely want to explore later in the year once I feel more comfortable riding longer distances in the S10.

I was a sissy and trailered mine and my sons' to Kerrville. One kid has an FJR and the other an R6. Even had we wanted to ride them that far South, the R6 would be having to stop and refuel a lot.

I just joined a club and they are planning to do the Twisted Sisters in April. I might not be able to do it, but definitely something that I want to do it relatively soon. Stopping to refuel every 100-110 miles is not ideal, but definitely an opportunity to rest, stretch out and keep going. It’s great that you can ride with your kids. This is certainly a great bonding moment.

The trip to the 'Sisters was when I found out great the Tenere was. I was expecting just a bigger KLR, but while chasing the R6 kid through the curves I realized she was much, much, better than a KLR.

Yeah, that's kinda where the R6's range is. The Tenere has an easy 200+ mile range if the speed is kept reasonable. I do know that I-10, west of Kerrville, has a posted 80mph speed limit.
