I've been seeing 45 mpg in S mode exclusively for the last 5 tank fulls. 200 miles then the "Flashing" E comes on and 4.4 gallons to fill. My bike got the same in T mode. 45 mpg. So I'll just keep it in sport.

Here is an update HoebSTer, I am at 2200 miles on the 705's. Rear looks about 1/2 gone. Front is wearing better. 90% asphalt commuting, 10% dirt/gravel. I don't know if I'll buy them again. They do feel/handle well for my riding style though. WJR
