Riding routes in Bend OR area

Good to know. I've been through there a few times (all on 97) no deer. I figured I would grab my Gazeteer, and look for some side routes. We almost always try and find the unbeaten path. Thank you PGeller for the route. It's on my list for certain. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Riding routes in Bend OR area

M'eh, we live in the GFD (GodForsakenDesert) of central WA. We are used to heat. Or trip to McCall ID a couple years ago, we found ourselves stuck at construction in 118 degrees, no shade. THAT was misery. Yeah we just based the Glacier thing off of previous trips. Sister in law went there on...

Riding routes in Bend OR area

Thank you guys. All good info. Keep it coming. The weather issue I was a little concerned about. Looks like this will be around the last week in June.. We originally planned on going to Glacier but we realized it probably wouldn't be open on the GTTS road even that late. Sent from my iPad...

Riding routes in Bend OR area

Awesome! This is exactly what I need! Thank you! I've been on that a short stretch of that road to Government Camp a few years ago. Beautiful area. Belknap hot springs, are those the ones over near Fossil? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Riding routes in Bend OR area

So it's been settled. We are taking our annual 5 day family riding trip to the Bend area this coming June. I have driven through but never been riding there. Crater lake is obviously on the list, but other than that I'm clueless. Any suggested or must-see routes to take. We prefer loops but...

Pacific Northwest Cascade weekend ride Aug 15-17 2014

If you can't get into Cathlamet, the Vista Park campground in Skamokawa is just down beautiful hwy 4 about 8 miles. They have Yurts, lots of open space and places for tents and RVs. Pretty reasonable rates as well. Tons of twisty pavement in that area. I love going there. Gets a bit windy in the...

anyone ride the Aneas Valley road to Gold creek rd in the Okanogan

So how did it go? I've been up in that area before (roads around Swan Lake) but got turned back for one reason or another. I've heard Aenas valley rd is pretty nice, but some of the connectors ( where I was riding) are a bit rough.

Pacific Northwest Cascade weekend ride Aug 15-17 2014

Got my tent spot reserved at Eagle Valley. I spoke with Joyce (509) 674-7762. She's very nice to deal with. I also advised her there might be more people from the Tenere group calling for reservations. She said there are plenty of tent spaces left (didn't ask about RV spots, sorry). So if...

Pacific Northwest Cascade weekend ride Aug 15-17 2014

I'm in. Got the vacation time blocked, and the wife's blessing. Now all I need is a decent spot to pitch a tent. I'm assuming the Eagles place you don't have to be a member? All the other places that aren't full, are too far out. Would rather be closer in to Cle Elum. I think I'm going to drop...

    K60 Tire Pressure Questions

I'm new to my K60s, and they seem to be pretty smooth. The thing I did notice seems to be some sort of harmonic vibe between 25-32 mph. Only way I can describe is a buzz that sounds (feels?) like it's going "rom rom rom rom rom". It only does it in this speed range, more noticeable as I'm...

    Spot 2

I'll vouch for the lack of cell service. There are a lot of places out here where it's spotty or all together nonexistent. I (like Dirt Dad) tend to ride alone quite frequently. While a SPOT isn't the perfect solution, it's MUCH better than cell. I live 1/4 from I-90. I get 2 bars on my cell in...

You know ADV Riding has become mainstream . . .

You know ADV Riding has become mainstream . . . Ain't that the truth. A Spot is probably cheaper, more reliable and better service.

Super Tenere, is it big as a first bike?

I think it will suit you just fine. After all the Super Tenere should really be classified as a Farm Implement rather than a motorcycle. I mean anything you can buy a winch as an accessory for is pretty utilitarian in my opinion. Just respect the Tenere. I'm still adjusting from my WeeStrom...
