Trouble is 'the Lakes' are now a popular all year round tourist attraction. I totally avoid it in the summer months and weekends. I tend to venture up mid week, the same with north Wales.

I've just returned from a 1300 mile round trip to the Orkney Islands. I went with two pals, Dave on a Triumph 1200 trophy, and Mike on his KTM Super Adventure. The journey started from near Liverpool in North west England, Dave and I rode up on Thursday afternoon to Mikes apartment in Edinburgh...

I changed the final drive and engine oils just for the hell of it today. That's nine months and 2,000mls since it's 6k (12month) dealer service. Also checked the spokes and brake pads. I'm off to the Orkney Islands next week so being a bit anal thought it best to give the bike a 'once over'.

I'm finding my Avon Trailriders work very well in the wet and dry. Big plus for me is that they're home grown made in England.

Those highway pegs are cool, you have done a great job there. Are you planning going into production? If so I'd be interested in buying a set.

The OEM heated grips failed on my Gen2 S10 (bought new Jan '14) when it was about 3 months old. They were replaced by the dealer under warranty. If they fail once warranty expires I shall replace with Oxford grips. I have these fitted to my Triumph 900 Trophy for a few years and they work very...
