Yes.. you did very good. Based on your side racks, it looks like you also got a set of Jesse hard-cases (those are $1500++ alone). I have the same and they work well but are clearly more than I need (but I'll keep them of course). And again, welcome aboard. Mr. BR

Welcome Aboard, Tooph! 85K eh? Did you get a smoke'n deal because of the "high miles"? I've got the same on my 2012! (but most of it from the 2 prev owners). Mr. BR

Will anyone in the USA rebuild the ABS control module?

Hey Eric, Good question and perhaps one of the previous owners did have an ABS ON/OFF setup as I do have an un-used rocker switch on the dash AND... it has a 30A rating. I was told the orignal owner had a long commute (put 70K+ miles on it) and perhaps he did do some off-roading where there...

Will anyone in the USA rebuild the ABS control module?

Reviving this old thread as I was following it closely while the OP and others worked to fix their ABS issues. My ’12 was purchased 18 mos ago with a glowing ABS light and codes for Front Sensor and Pump Motor. Front Sensor replaced (that error code gone, TC working again) but the Pump Motor...

    Main ignition switch overhaul

I assume you mean the Ignition Key lock/barrel? I left that attached to the steering crown as shown. Although my key is getting a little worn, it continues to work normally. The steering lock part (turning key fully to the left) was accessible and given a cleaning and some white grease. Mr. BR

    Main ignition switch overhaul

I did this on my '05 FJR last year... almost identical to the Super Ten (which I've not done yet). No real issues or symptoms but I knew it was going to be dirty so I cleaned it (and I had bike apart for other reasons). Regarding lube... I very lightly dressed and cleaned the electrical...

    Show Us Your Panniers

My '12 also came with a pair of Jesse cases.... roomy, well made, easy on and off, and probably more than I'll ever need for my riding... but happy to have them. Haven't had a need to contact the Co for anything so far.... Regards, Mr. BR

Valve adjustment - more lessons learned

I’ve had a Hot Cams shim kit for nearly 10 yrs because going back and forth to a local dealer for shims is something I'd rather avoid. And with both an FJR and Super T to support, I love having it available (and I’ve loaned it out a few times to other local owners). However, this kit is known to...

    Centrestand spring.

From my '12... I've never had it off so I assume it's correct. Mr. BR

Rear brake weirdness, no rear ABS, and ABS light on- 2013 w/70K miles.

I'd say start with checking your error codes for the ABS... could be something simple like the rear wheel sensor. Mr. BR

    Coolant Change the easy way

A coolant change on these bikes really is easy and I just did this on my ’12 as I had removed the radiator for cleaning. After refill I fired up it up and with the cap off, I watched the coolant level as it warmed up… almost no movement until I saw ~160F engine temp and then the coolant started...

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Sorry.... I don't have that and bike is back together. That would have been a good to show a before and after. Mr. BR

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Well, it’s a rainy day here in Nor Cal so I thought I’d change the coolant and clean the radiator on my ’12 Super T. No temperature issues at all but with 85K miles I figured it could probably use a good cleaning. And I was correct… found about ~15% (in red) of the radiator area was at least...

    FJR 1300

I’ve had my ’05 FJR for 10 yrs now and my ’12 Super Tenere about 18 mos. I’ve always been a one-bike rider mostly due to lack of garage space but the Super Ten was a deal I couldn’t pass up (so I made room). The FJR is smooth and fast with very good wind and weather protection. Love that engine...
