The best part is that once the part is coated you could spray it with acid and it won't discolor. It withstands up to 500 degrees, and has a better salt spray resistance than 440 c stainless. Anything that will stand the 300 degrees for an hour will accept this coating. Check it out at Cerakote.com
Have any of you guys tried Cerakote? I use it on guns and it really looks good. The part will need to be removed, degreased thoroughly, and abrasive blasted. The coating is sprayed like paint, I use an Awata detail gun. Then it gets baked to set the coating. The only problem may be it cooks at...
The other part of this is that the "100mph" Rider is flirting with a Federal! ticket for speeding on the parkway. I had a buddy who got one on his GSXR years ago $900.00 for 20 over posted. Too rich for my blood. We stay off the Parkway.
I've ridden the Dragon more times than I can count. I live about 2 hours away. I have ridden it on everything from my S10 to a Aprilia Tuono, and a Suzuki Tl 1000 that was set up for trackday racing. You MAY get it up to 100 on a few of the straightaways but I doubt it was much over posted...
Yeah, on the road I agree but off road it seems to screw me more often than not. Bear in mind here in the southeast red clay has the friction coefficient of snot on a tile floor and I have ridden big bore dirt bikes xr 650, Husky 710's for years.
Guys, I apologise if this has been covered already but I couldn't find a thread about it.
Is there a way to turn off all the electronic nannies and have them stay off through a start cycle? I have an extensive dirt background (30 years) and find the abs and TC intrusive. I know this is the wave...
I have had Aerostitch gear since I was 20, I'm 54 now. I still have the original Darien I bought 25 years ago and it's in good shape. I cannot say enough good about that company. You get what you pay for in my opinion
I do have a bunch of Altrider stuff on my S 10 but it seems to be holding up...
I went from a VStrom 650 to the S10. I was kind of like Meh at first but now I wouldn't trade it for anything. Love the cruise control, love the roll on power, all around awesomeness. This is one of my forever bikes. My 2007 Honda XR 650 L is the other.
Just got back from Upstate NY, 1980 miles round trip from SC. All my pics are in the camera. I will try to load some soon. Bike ran great, my ass not so much. Lol
