Gen 1 is LEDs. The Dyna Flash was (unfortunately) spliced in with vampire clips, and the original Yamaha plug was left "open" and unconnected. The wires have been repaired where needed with heat shrink crimps, and I'm a very big fan of dielectric grease. I'm going to try bridging the switches...

Sorry for the length of time in the replies - I did helicoil it, as recommended. I no longer need a front hub, but thank you to everyone for replying.

I did end up having a M6 helicoil and tap in my home shop, so thats done. Let it sit last night with some red 271 before putting the rotor back on and TQing everything down. Just went for a ride, and the brakes are smooth. The new rubber helped, too. Thanks again for the suggestion @scott123007...

You know - I've used helicoils to repair spark plug sockets several times and had not honestly thought about using one here. Huh. Thanks! Now off to see if I have any M6 helicoils in my home shop somewhere.
