So everyone's arse is different so there is no such thing as THE best seat - its more of THE best seat for you. I have the Touratec Comfort Seat and feedback on this site is very poor for it as its just an overpriced Touratec item etc etc however for me its bloody fantastic.
Standard seat on a...
Like the ongoing windsheild debate (!) the seat is similar in that its a case of finding whatever works for you.
I had no problem with the standard windsheild and seat untill a 2100 mile trip over 4 days up and over the Alps and back. The difference of being in the saddle for 3 hours to then...
I have the Puig and its great. I did an Alps trip with the standard screen and that highlighted how utter rubbish the standard screen is. The Puig is a joy to sit behind as it creates a bubble of calm, less wind buffeting and less stress on the head neck and shoulders.
I am 6 foot 1 and have it...
All the non ES owners will tell you the extra money is not worth it, but as an ES owner i'll say if you can afford the extra then its a no brainer as the heated grips are great and the suspension is a great system and like the non ES it takes a bit of fiddling to find 'your' settings but its...
I have the Yoshi and have the db killer in and it makes a great sound. So much so i have not even tried to remove it. It makes a distinctive throaty growl but isn't offensively loud. And its over 50% cheaper than the Akrapovic .......
Well i run helmet plus luggage with the damping down a few clicks for just me with no luggage day to day and it works for me. I come from sportsbikes so its still plush and comfy for me but handles well and is great over the bumps. I leave it even if i bungee a bag on the back when i go touring...
Fitted a Touratech comfort seat and its a massive improvement over stock.
The thing is the Touratech works for me but other people on here hate them.
You won't know if one is good for you until you sit on it ....
ES 2015.
This ES or non ES thing is amusing. Previous threads have non ES owners saying how silly the ES is and how after spending over £800 on a new aftermarket shock etc blah blah etc
yet virtualy all ES owners seem happy with it.
I was sceptical as i couldn't work out why Yamaha had decided...
Why do most non ES owners think the ES is a gimmick ?
I was sceptical before but i got one.
Not anymore because there are plenty of settings there , its easy to find one that works for you if you understand how suspension works.
Like everything its all down to personal preference. This is the...
In a nutshell, no. When i fitted it it looked ridiculously high and even when i sat on the bike in my garage i thought it would be intrusive to my vision, but i shouldn't of worried - on the road you look over it and it does not get in the way at all. I am 6'1" and have the screen set on the...
Just got the Puig touring screen (the one with the angular sides not the one that looks like its from the 70's) and its awesome. 15CM's taller than the standard screen i now sit in a bubble of calm with less noise and no buffeting. See the @Finished pimping my ride' post for a pic......
Not had a hard start and just had my ECU remapped ..... so either the ECU update doesn't touch my lovely throttle settings or i will not not touch the ECU update ...
Well i got the 2015 ES and absolutely love the suspension. I wanted to hate it as Yamaha would not let me adjust the front and rear independently like every other i have owned and there was no way they could have a setting that would work for me and ....oh hang on they have. And its great. And...
So after 4675 miles, i have added / changed a few things and all for the better !
After a quick 4 day - 2000 miles through France into Switzerland across the Swiss Alps to Davos and into Italy and the Stelvio Pass and Lake Garda and back under Mont Blanc back to the UK a few months ago i came up...
