    Shift spring breakage

Sounds like it might make sense to change the spring every say 20,000 miles? What do others think.

    Coolant issues!

So went for a ride today in really hot weather. Bike ran fine, fan cutting in and out in heavy traffic as I was near home. When I got home and turned the bike off, I noticed a pool of coolant under the bike. Overflow bottle was more than full and cap was popped off. When it cooled down...

Brake pad life - what's to be expected

Brake Pad Life Was out for a 600 mile ride with a couple of mates a few weekends ago. One of the bikes, a V Strom 650 ran out of rear brake pad material during the ride. Now it has done about 10,000 k or 6000 mile in the old money. Started to make me think about my S10 as it is coming up to...

Super Tenere lapel pins (or use them as hat badges)

Yes.. the one i got originally was crap. That is why I went my own way with these... only trouble with this one is the minimum quantities I had to have made.. hence the idea of selling the "extras".

Super Tenere lapel pins (or use them as hat badges)

So down here in Australia, I went looking for a Super Tenere badge to wear on my suit coat's lapel. Found one on Ebay.. ordered it and it is crap. Very disappointed. Being a pro photographer, I made a deep etched picture of a first gen S10 and had an artist work on it to be made into a badge. I...

    Odometer/Trip reset switch

Re: UK Super Tenere Console/trip reset failure Well my instrument cluster was replaced by Yamaha Australia around 20 months ago.. and all is still well. However.. I don't trust the thing and so I NEVER use the trip reset button at all. It is interesting that Yamaha Australia told me that...

Bending the pillion peg support bracket

Hi all.. I managed to drop my S10 at relatively low speed.. around 15 MPH on some wet clay and destroyed the right hand side OEM pannier. Have obtained a replacement and discovered the right hand side pillion peg bracket is bent slightly. Now this bracket has steel bits underneath it for the...

Soft Pannier Racks that mount to OEM pannier racks.

Mate I was a long way out in the sticks.. case got binned as I had to buy a duffle bag to ride over 1000 kilometres home etc. The top lock mount part just shattered into a zillion pieces on impact with the ground.

Soft Pannier Racks that mount to OEM pannier racks.

Well. I love the OEM panniers.. but recently I went down on some wet clay in outback Australia and smashed the right hand pannier to pieces. So I decided for really rough outback rides.. soft pannier bags would be good. Then.. I came up with the idea of fabricating soft pannier racks that will...

    Odometer/Trip reset switch

Re: UK Super Tenere Console/trip reset failure So the latest on my Super Tenere’s faulty speedo reset button.... Yamaha Australia offered to have it repaired for me at their expense. A good outcome as the bike is roughly 3 - 4 months out of warranty. But.. I would have to pay for remove and...
