For what it's worth... Teneres have one of the best r/r in the motorcycle world. Yamaha was the first to use a mosfet style regulator starting with the FJR1300. The early Teneres have a Shindingen FH012AA part number and at some point (maybe the '14 refresh?) switched to an even better...
Don't get me wrong, I think they're top quality (maybe the best) and like that they're made in the USA, but good grief $700. My buddy wouldn't have thought a thing about $495 + shipping. They need to think that through IMO.

Don't know if the new owners still follow this thread but I'll relate some disappointment we had with Jesse Luggage...
On my recommendation my buddy bought the full $1800 luggage set for his Tenere shortly before we left for Tuktoyaktuk in Aug '18. A 20 mph lowside on the Dempster twisted a...
Just installed my braces and want to make sure I didn't miss something... Am I correct in saying the shield mechanism will no longer lock into the four adjustment settings once the braces are on?

Safe travels!

If you guys are in a group I'd think about doing the Alpine Loop. Just don't be afraid to ask for help if you get to something you're not comfortable with. It's not terribly technical and there's only a short section of "ledgy" trail (between Lake City and Cinnamon) and the road is plenty wide...
Bummer, we'll just miss you guys. I've got reservations in Silverton from 7/15 to 7/22. I'm taking both the S10 and TE630. I've done all the passes there several times on the TE, planning to do the Alpine Loop two-up on the S10 this time (we may pre-run on the Husky first). If you're in the...
A thought about your tool tubes... I'd add a stainless safety wire leash around them to the bike as they are prone to breaking off their brackets and disappearing. They were designed to hold rolled up tractor manuals, not 10lbs of tools. :)
Dad and I had a great 4-week trip to Prudhoe last...
