Absolutely beautiful, and I fully agree with the idea of leaving it as original, especially the 8 track! If you ever decide to sell it, I’d like a crack at it. I had a 79 back in the day and have regretted selling it since the minute I got rid of it.

That is a pretty good set-up and very similar to what I had on a previous bike. I would like to have something a little more low profile on the S10, and maybe something that looks factory.

I've looked at those. My main concern with most that I have found is that they are for a smooth surface. The factory top box has the ridges, which I fear would interfere with adhesion of most aftermarket pads. I feel sure someone on this forum, much smarter than I, has already figured out the...

I had the Tusk on a KLR and, like @eemsreno said, the smaller size takes some getting used to. I am currently looking for one to go on my new to me S10 as well but decided to look for something a bit larger that the Tusk. I may have to give the Nelson-Rigg a shot.
