I have an SW Motech skid plate but the engine noise was almost as loud even before I put it on. Sounds like a very noisy tappet but may be cam chain slap as Kmasa suggests. Probably just normal for that engine since others seem to hear the same thing.

I had my ECU flashed by FTECU this past winter. They assured me over the phone that they could flash a Canadian ecu and that it would be recognizable to them by its different part number. Just to be sure, I taped a little note to it saying "Canadian bike" when I sent it to them. I got it back...

Did you remove and mail in your ECU or take the bike in? I'd like to have mine done but I will have to remove the ECU and I'm a little concerned about that. Anyone know how hard that is to do? I took a quick look under the side panel and it's not what I would call a quick and easy job.

I've learned that "Flash Tune ECU" can flash Canadian ECU's. I haven't yet had it done so I can't say how good they are. You can google their name for more info.

Hey Garry, that's interesting about the ECU flash. Odd that the Canadian version would not be able to be flashed. I haven't gotten to the stage of sending the serial number to the flash guy but I expect you have. Your buddy is lucky he's that close to a MG dealer; they are few and far between...
