I just had a very similar issue with a 2012 ST. Bike rode great earlier in the day stopped for about a 30 minute break. Bike seemed slow to start and low idle but in the next 20 minutes went from stalling to hi idle to 2 to 4k. Had to re start 3 times then the bike died and would not re start...

My gauge was reading 2 bars and I ran out of gas at 192 miles. pushed to the gas station and it only took 4.7 gallons. I tried leaning the bike side to side and that got me a few hundredd yards.
