Personally, I’d just be happy for my best friend and support them in his/her choice of bike, whilst enjoying my own choice of bike.

I’ve previously used the seal cleaner method and it can work. I used a small piece of old camera film that I had.

I use the Kriega ones on my bike, they seem to do a good job. Cheap and five mins to fit. FWIW, I had my forks serviced at a suspension specialist in Northants, for just over £200. New seals, bushes and oil, along with anything else in there that required replacing. Was turned around in a week...

Yep, it’s fine. I just looked on the parts fiche and 80 is the current version.

The adjuster is hidden from view. Reach up from where the lower yoke is and the adjusters are towards the lower centre, sort of 4 (left) & 8 (right) o clock as you look from the sitting position. I adjusted mine recently, using a short t-bar with a socket….i think is was an 8mm.

Looks good, really nice! A mate of mine restored a similar bike a few years back and it’s now become his main bike. He came to Spain on it with a group of us in 2022. It drew far more attention than the more modern stuff.

Gen1 bikes don’t have a crossbar…….mines doesn’t, I presume all pre 14 bikes don’t.
