Welcome, there are many of us here from the KLR Forum. another thing you are going to love about the S10 is the shaft drive.....hard to go back to a chain!

The mode switch requires the throttle to be completely closed for it to operate....if you effected the throttle stop position/idle speed when doing the throttle bodies that could be your problem.

could it be a pre ignition knock? are you using premium fuel?

Are these compatible with Givi Crash bars? How Much shipped to 93561?

Sign me up for 2016....I'm headed to the Zion Ponderosa for the Flying Monkey Adventure Rally in October of this year! I've been there several times and its a great location. plenty of dirt and street options from there.
