What is this curved windshield and does it come with the two front black plastic bars ? Thanks
it looks like the factory yamaha touring screen i had one for my 2013, you use the 2 plastic black bars from your standard screen to fit it you just swop screen over and put the bars back onWhat is this curved windshield and does it come with the two front black plastic bars ? Thanks
Yours is a Gen II. The one in the picture is a Gen I.My 2014 non ES doesn't have these blank plastic bars.
its only on the gen 1 thats whyMy 2014 non ES doesn't have these blank plastic bars.
it is a gen 1 only 2010 to 2013 screen fitting, oem you can buy themI love these bars because I could drill my VStream to lower it a bit and they could hide the unused holes on the windshield..
Does that mean you just ADDED 33lbs to your bike??Ever since I heard someone say that you can get the side covers off with the T-Rex bars, I’d been itching to get them. Big expense for a little convenience since postage was around US$450 which was my own fault. Cost projection early on was that they’d cost $x to send at a certain weight and’s, with the package being 33 lbs, I thought that in halving it, it would come in cheaper.
Nope.
They took almost no time at all to fit & the bonus is that if I ever had BMW envy, this brings things a lot closer to that
The old ones had definitely proven themselves in a fall with no damage to the bike at all. Of course, the intention is to not tip it over - especially from something dumb like bouncing it off the side stand when coming off the centre stand.
I also fitted the variable length T-Rex side stand just to give it that little bit extra lean.
Much happier with how it sits when parked now.
There was also an extender that was on top of the screen but it rolled off the stand one day as I was getting back to it from closing the gate. What is this curved windshield and does it come with the two front black plastic bars ? Thanks
I think maybe 10 lbs of that was packaging and the SW Motech ones that came off were probably 4/5 of the weight of the ones going on.Does that mean you just ADDED 33lbs to your bike??
Sorry I did not respond earlier. Excess lateral run-out is side to side movement of the rim. It is corrected by pulling the rim back into alignment by loosening spokes on one side and tightening on the other. Since the spokens are cross laced you have to recognize the direction of pull and adjust accordingly. I worked the two pairs on either side of the "out" spot. You need a wheel stand and a measurement tool, although you could do a quick check on the centerstand with the front wheel elevated and a screwdriver or punch held against the forks.Mr H
What does out of spec “true” cause? Does it lead to a front wheel feeling like a wheel out of balance? How is “true” achieved? Is it by tightening and loosening spokes in order to re-align the wheel within itself?
This might be something I’ll need doing over the winter months, as I have an odd front wheel wobble/shake feeling. Had it balanced and rebalanced, had new wheel bearings and fairly recently did the head bearings, so it’s unlikely any of those.
Wheel rebuilding and trueing is something I have no knowledge of, any help/tips/insight is much appreciated.
TIA
