Sooo clean, and that new bike smell!
I'm accustom to people not knowing what I'm riding as I traded a Moto Guzzi V85TT in on the Super T and I also have a Moto Guzzi V7. Once at a gas stop a lady comes up and asked what kind of Harley I was riding. I told her it was a Moto Guzzi V7. She looked at me funny and asked again what kind of Harley is it? I told her it was a Harley V7 and moved on.solorider73 , congrats on buying a new 23 Tenere .... it's a great bike ... no one will know what it is , so be prepared to explain its not a BMW ...
it is a torque machine ... it will get good milage ... valve adjustments are 26k away... enjoy.
now for the negative , FARKLE disease... lots of screen time and credit card abuse are in your future .... and some of our favorite suppliers no longer stock stuff for this bike ... I bought the last skid plate that touratech had in North America , and alt rider no longer carries a skid plate for this bike . I think you will find what you need but may take longer to find it .
and back to some good news . this forum has members who know where everything Tenere is in the world , just ask. good luck and safe riding.
P.S no two Tenere after farkling look like any other Tenere . makes them personally unique .
Here's about the only option left. T-Rex Racing 2012 - 2023 Yamaha Super Tenere Engine Guard Crash Cages Skid Plate Combo (t-rex-racing.com). . . . I need to get some crash bars for mine. I say I won't take it off-road but the reality is I will at some point and it will go down.
Wow, you didn't waste any time. I'm guessing that you already had the bars ordered? We only recommended them yesterday. And yeah, bags/boxes are expensive. Keep an eye on the for-sale section. Used will work as well as new most of the time but cost a lot less. Doesn't matter what year, they all fit.. . . . Also still shopping for hard bags. They are so expensive to purchase. . . .
I had ordered them about a week and a half ago. They came in Monday and I installed them this week. Seems they are one of the few companies that actually had them in stock so it was an easy decision.Wow, you didn't waste any time. I'm guessing that you already had the bars ordered? Bumot cases are really sweet, and they cost about the same as all the other hard box sets. Also still shopping for hard bags. They are so expensive to purchase.
My wife is very concerned about my health as of the last two VISA bills! Keep finding one more thing to put on it or buy for the Alaska trip...solorider73 , congrats on buying a new 23 Tenere .... it's a great bike ... no one will know what it is , so be prepared to explain its not a BMW ...

I have AltRider lower and upper bars but I do like that T-Rex Racing bars as they have lower protection. But then I worry about something hitting that lower section and throwing you. 6 of one 1/2 a dozen of the other!alt rider still has lower crash bars available , but damn expensive ... t-rex would be more affordable .
Something to think about. I replaced the plastic screws for the winglets with stainless steel replacements from the local hardware store... then later I bought the infill panel from a member vendor on the forum and I pulled the rubber/threaded grommets out and used his supplied stainless bolts and Nylock nut. Infill panel is good for reducing buffeting coming up past your forks. It is also a good place to install switches too.I ended up with the T-Rex crash bars and skid plate.
I really like them and they are going to provide a lot of protection but they were a bear to install. I had trouble getting the bolts into the engine to start. I was getting worried that I wasn’t going to get them started and maybe damage the engine threads. I enlisted my wife to help so you know I was getting desperate. She walks into the garage and says “All you need to do is put those two bolts in”. Yes honey that’s the simple problem. After 20 minutes of trying I ended up putting the original Yamaha bolts in and they were fine. I was then able to install the T-Rex bolts. So maybe there was a bent thread preventing the supplied bolts from starting.
Next farkle was the Yamaha wind defectors. I had someone on another thread tell me to just order them even though they are expensive as it will be worth it. They were right, they really do work with buffeting. Noise is still a little loud but I think that is an adventure bike feature.
I’m really happy with the bike so far. Did the 600 mile service over the weekend.
I’m still waiting on an electrical connector for the gps and phone installation. Also still shopping for hard bags. They are so expensive to purchase.
Which sizes did you get? I watched a few Youtube videos on them that were all good.Bumot cases are really sweet, and they cost about the same as all the other hard box sets.
I just got a set last week. Quality throughout
