Is there a simple way to tell if my ECU was flashed by a previous owner? I've read on here about the benefits of the flash and the ride characteristics that change... and therein lies the issue.
I don't experience much in the way of engine braking and I don't really have jerky/twitchy throttle response in the low range. Could it be smoother? Maybe.
Maybe I'm just used to it and have different expectations? I mean, I road Ducatis for years and if you want to know engine braking, ride a Monster. Release the throttle and it will mash your junk into the fuel tank if you're not careful. My 848's throttle was "super responsive" to say the least and it would snap the front wheel off the ground in a flash if you didn't roll on carefully. So maybe it's me and my expectations? The S10 is a dream to ride, for the most part.
So why ask about the flash if I don't mind the ride characteristics? Because I would love to squeeze out more mpg if possible and, if the ride characteristics really are that much smoother, then maybe I'm missing out on something that I never knew I was missing.
So, any ideas on how to check if it's been flashed?
