Two helmets will give a substantial lean. That's what I was using for awhile. But, after messing with settings, I backed it down to one helmet w/luggage, and hard. It ended up working best for my roads.

This weekend trip was not quite so exciting as the last one. After the Friday overnight, early Sat down pours, I went around to the west end of the trail to see If I could get back to where we were last weekend. I was surprised to find everything dry. The road looked ok when getting off the pavement. It was all rutted, so really slippery when wet, clay base. I go maybe a mile mile and half and come to several big signs saying no trespassing/dead end. I also notice a game camera on one of the nearby fence posts. I double check my GPS and it shows, that I am on the right road. I look up the road a 100 yards and there is a big extra heavy duty motorized gate across the road. Bummer. I don't understand how people can block FS roads. There are no other roads to take so I back track & head to State Bridge then Kremmling.

This is coming out on the Kremmling side.

I head out of Kremmling on a dirt road heading towards Winter Park and run into some sort of a large dirt bike group ride/race. Everybody is heading downhill towards the Hwy so I head uphill towards what I hope is the end of the pedal bikers. Their sag truck passes by just about the same time I hit the 1 lane trail going towards Winter Park.

I had brunch at a nice little beaver pond. 2 or 3 bike stragglers go by. So I turn up the throttle a bit and come around a corner with 2 more bikers on my side of the road. Both had their eyes pop out from my surprise appearance, I jump over to the side of trail and continue on.

Up on top of the pass was a rest/aid station for the bikers. No pictures, as I was on a mission to get home before the monsoon rains came back in for the afternoon.

Looks like your winglets are huge! Assuming it’s not an optical illusion can you share some info and maybe a closeup pic?

Onslaut - Yes they are a bit bigger than the standard stock ones. My bike is a Gen 1 so they are going to be a lot different than the Gen 2's. They came from a company called CeeBailey (sp?) who has stopped making motorcycle parts like the winglets, windshields, and headlight guards. I have their headlight guard too. I had both their headlight guard and windshield on my RT too. Great products, never had any issues. The company still makes lots of aircraft plastic parts. They are 5 1/2 inches at the widest part. Unfortunately my cell is having issues sending pictures at this time. Once I get that working I'll post a couple pictures.

I too had their windshield on my RT. OE was useless. Theirs was much better. The only downside was that you couldn't raise the windshield over at speeds over 65mph. If you wanted it up, you had better do it before you went fast.

I have a gen 1 as well, same color as yours also. Thanks!

A week long trip to Sweden's High Coast. A Unesco World Heritage site.

As always, a mandatory coffee break in the woods.

More food, Indian eatery in Söderhamn. Food great, city itself better forgotten.

Quite a view from the High Coast bridge!

Another view of the bridge.

Skuleberget (Skule hill). A "relatively" fast growing "hill". Claim to fame, during the last 10,000 years it hast tripled in height.

Well deserved biker food in Örnsköldsvik harbor.
HKburg.jpg

The harbor used to trade significantly with the old Sovjet Union. Two old cranes are left as historic marks.

Hemsö fästning (Hemsö fortress). From 1957 to 1992 a Baltic defense against evil commies!

Control room.

No trip complete w/o visiting an old industrial site. The gazebo is the only part still standing from the owner's "lodge".

Riding through Sweden with my Girlfriend on the X-ADV and yours truly on the XT is a true pleasure. Great company and perfect bikes.

I ended up with one of the last CeeBailey talls for the Ténéré. I ran a CeeBailey on my Royal Star for many tens of thousands.

I’m in Colorado doing some riding on the s10 and the water pump goes out. Long story short and i’m out and having the bike trailed home.
Iron Mountain Highway to Keystone so I could sit down.

Then Iron Mountain back to run Needles one more time.

Loading and back towards Iowa tomorrow.
So apparently you have been to Donahue in Wisconsin Rapids ?
Is that where you bought your Tenere ? When I was looking to buy my 2018 I stopped there on my 2013 and they told me nobody buys Tenere’s so they don’t stock them and they never said a word about possibly ordering one, I kept looking other places, seemed unbelievable to me how much trouble I had simply trying to buy a new motorcycle

Surprisingly the winglets are out of the way and don't touch anything when the bike takes a nap. They do get in the way when taking the plastic off, but no big deal since there are only 3 screws holding them on. They really do make a difference when the temps get down close to zero and in the rain.

Cheated on the XT12 and took the XT600 for a joy ride along Göta Kanal (https://www.gotakanal.se/en/) and some local lakes.

The harbor in my home town. Early morning so no activity from boat and RV people.
GK1.jpg

Stone circle were people had "town hall" meetings 900 A.D.
GK2.jpg

River feeding one of the lakes.
GK3.jpg

Back home again and the canal just as peaceful as when I left.
GK4.jpg

The trusted XT600 is still a blast after 20 years together!
Light weight (the bike, not the rider) and enough power to go sideways when opportunities arise.
Pack a lunch and go gravel road hunting. Order of the day!
