So I was riding along at about 40mph in 4th, downshifted to 3rd, the bike itself raised the rpms to about 4500-4700 and stayed there. The bike began accelerating obviously and I was coming to a stop. I was never in any danger but can someone tell me what the heck would cause this? Once I pulled the clutch in, I came to a stop just fine but the bike was still revving 4500 with no hand on the throttle at all and the throttle was not partially turned, as in stuck from returning, the throttle was all the way forward, with zero rotation. I blipped the throttle to see if it would settle, nothing, I did it a second time a little more, nothing, the third time I twisted the throttle the entire way and the bike came down off 4500 and settled into a normal idle. Weird. What would cause this?
This is a 2019, with 12,600 miles and this shouldn't matter but it was raining out.
Thanks, Rick
