If you get an AVC8130 flash. Get the one he recommends. Me likeyHaven’t flashed mine but I would love to take one for a test ride and after that the chances are pretty good I might have mine flashed.

Is your bike completely stock then?No I did not, and I really don't think I'm ever going to.
It run's fine in both "S" and "T" mode.
Why not buy the OEM side cases too?@MattR
Well, in that area YES.
But I have bought OEM crashbar, centerstand, sump guard and low seat.
and SW motech alu- side cases.
And a big red bicycle bell, but that's it
A little later...
Åh, and spend a lot of time adjusting the suspension, that I can adjust different front and back, because it is not a ES model
. . . . Debated on my '18 as it ran pretty well stock. . . .
Well. . . . that could explain a lot. I've never ridden a Gen 1. Mine's a '17. A perectly wonderful '17.I got a ‘13, the flash did a great positive difference to the power delivery (done by Anthony). I got to ride my friends’ unflashed ‘16 and the bike felt much better than mine did before flash. I think Yamaha corrected some issues on later versions.
The dealer where I bought it, advised me not to buy OEM side cases. Why not buy the OEM side cases too?

Agree, and the memories how smooth a properly carbureted engine can be fading away or perhaps in an increasing numbers, never experienced, our standard for acceptable drivability has declined.I think many people who have never experienced the improvements that can be had from a flash just continue to ride their stock bikes thinking that’s what they are supposed to be like. But once you’ve had a bike flashed it’s really annoying to then ride a bike that hasn’t been flashed as the fuelling problems stick out like a sore thumb
