Other than the lockdown cutting my riding miles it really hasn’t had much effect on me personally. So far no confirmed Corona cases in the county I live in and Hopefully it stays that way. I’m retired and received the Very nice $1,200 bonus check. Yes I feel sorry for all the business suffering from this Corona thing.

Unfortunately I still run into a half dozen joggers, hikers, and mountain bike idiots who refuse to wear a mask.
If it's not a requirement then they have made their choice. I run every morning. Nobody should be getting anywhere close to me, I watch ahead for walkers or other runner and veer out of the way of them giving plenty of "social distance". If someone gets into my space, they made that choice.

Stay healthy, do what you feel is important. I will not be running with a mask.

Hi, cycledude. My youngest son lives in Brown County, Green Bay to be exact and as you have seen on the news, they have been hit hard, primarily the meat processing plants there. Yesterday they opened their second drive thru testing site in GB, so at least they are trying to stay ahead of it. Glad that your county is doing better. Stay safe.

Well, it is required to wear a mask anytime you are outside your home as per my local and San Diego County Health Order:

"You need to have a face covering when leaving home and wear it when you're within six feet of anyone not a household member, or when entering a business."

It is impossible to be more than 6ft away from others when passing on a tight trail or sidewalk. Thus I wear a mask. Another thing to consider is this virus travels more than 6ft. I figure to use some common sense when I know that others will be passing close by. Now that is just me. I would be foolish to assume that others around me care about my well being. I'm finding more and more humans have total disregard for anyone including themselves.

I have made a choice to follow the law and health order as specified by our local officials. I have also chosen to care for myself and others around me by wearing a mask at all times when leaving home or my car. It's called integrity. As seen while crutching around, about 50% or more of others can care less and refuse to follow the rules.

Wearing a mask is one of the worst things you can do for your immune system. And when the mask wearing, home sheltering folk emerge from their isolation we will see a tremendous outbreak of all kinds of disease because of those lowered immune systems.

II am of the opinion that we should all do our best to keep this particular thread civil and let the opinions flow without personal or political attacks.

There are a wide range of members here. Some, like myself, are doing everything humanly possible to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They are following the rules and suggestions by the law enforcement and health officials. Some are even going out of their way to prevent the spread by taking extra precautions to preserve human life.

A lot of people are forced to put themselves at risk just by the nature of their job. These and the ones unemployed I feel are in the worst situation.

There is another group who are burying their head in the sand and don't think it will happen to them.

And then we have the ones that think they are above any rules, common sense, or proven scientific data. They are going to do whatever they want whenever they want no matter who it might hurt. Taking deliberate risks. No mask or gloves unless forced upon, getting on the motorcycle and taking risky rides for fun, picnics, group gatherings, etc are all about screw everyone else. Taking precautions is not even a consideration.

The last 2 groups are the sad reality of our society worldwide. There is no reasoning with them.

Here is a interesting link I found looking into New York's situation currently seeing that they have been hit the hardest: https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/amid-ongoing-covid-19-pandemic-governor-cuomo-announces-schmidt-futures-will-help-integrate-nys#hospitaldata
I won't elaborate my thoughts on the subject but I thought it might be interesting add to the subject.
As for me I have been working mostly 40 hours a week donning PPE as needed when contacting and handling all the computers/ phones/ printers/ etc/ that IT Departments normally do. Additionally our team has been going into places of our community to make sure our network and associated equipment that essential workers are using are working properly. BTW, I'm 61 and a type 2 diabetic (well controlled A1C) and have been temp checked, generally twice a week when going into our Medical facility, my temp today was 97 degrees.

Agree with you Chris, I have not stopped riding, but I am very fortunate to live a very lightly populated area up here in Ontario Canada.
I packed my fishing gear onto my Tenere and rode up to one of my favourite fishing holes.
Didn't get even near anyone. Almost had the river to myself.
I guess it all depends on where you live.
United States = 350 million people
Canada = 35 million people.
Land size, about the same.
Having said this, if I lived in Toronto or Montreal or Vancouver life would be different.
Whoo, thank God I'm a country boy!
Okay who sang that phrase??

I'm going to agree about challenging the assertion in this post. Show us the facts on this one please.

Through my career, I had to annually have a pulmonary check, sit thru a respirator class, do a mask fit test, and perform an exercise routine while wearing mine. I've had to wear the thing on mountains and in the tropics, both of which were a challenge because it is more restrictive than a N95, surgical mask, or piece of fabric. As far as I have ever learned, a proper respirator can restrict how much air a person is getting by making the respiratory system work harder. But I have never heard or seen how a mask can negatively affect somebody's immune system.

0.3% of the population has had it, at least in the USA, and we are near top of the list, and out of that deduct those that have died, those that had it months ago and no longer do. How many have it now that are potential to spread? Maybe 0.15% at most. So that means 99.85% of people don't have it. I don't mean to downgrade the thing as not worth worry, but my God come on. 99.85% of people don't have it. You think you need a mask, that is ok, but the frick with that for me. Require a mask, I don't go there. A big, or make that HUGE overreaction and worry over this. We will never recover, not so much from the flu, but the overreaction to minimise the spread.

You can find a video to support whatever premise you believe in, however this women is considered by her peers to be the top mind in her field, virology;

And this one, while a satire, is sadly an accurate portrayal of the blindness in some folks.

This woman is a anti-vaxxing quack. A top mind? I guess it's all relative. And if your post was meant as ironic, I apologize for not catching that angle.

we are told mask are not effective as the "can only see through a high powered ,its that small , electron type microscope " virus will pass through the mask material ..... then they say you have to wear a mask only thing that will help ..... its 6 feet of social distancing ,why not 5 or 20 , I personally don't want any one I don't know standing close to me any way , been practicing S/D forever..... bandanas are way cooler than ugly old masks any way , kind of a Texas thing back in style . the messages they send are all over the place . yesterday a doctor said those who have survived it are not immune because he says the virus has "mutated", how can he know that when non of the "experts have a handle on this virus " but he said it ,thus moving the goal post again.....today its this tomorrow its that ...... Simon says

This is the discredited person in that video:
"The woman featured in ‘Plandemic,' the coronavirus conspiracy video just banned from social media as false and harmful"
