The mountain view looked identical. We might have run into each other somewhere there I took forest service road 60 off of 299 to Hyampom and then Hayfork -> Red Bluff the past weekend while being chased by a small thunder storm...priceless.I was just there this past weekend with a group of FJ guys.
A buddy of mine and I rode down FR-40 from the ridge (Forest Route 1 I think?) toward Hyampom and found this................

Luckily there was a dirt-path cut through the trees just off the side of the washout, so we were able to get around.

We ended up riding FS road 60 up to the 299 and then back around through Hayfork.
We were all gathered at Bar-717 Ranch for the weekend. Awesome place!
That would have even greater impact if you put your location in your profile...NO OFF SEASON
Are you still traveling?Virginia
I'll field this for Navynuke in case you're still wondering. That pic was taken from the visitor center lot and that's about as close as you can get on a bike (legally). Was there last month but there's usually folks there taking pictures, making it difficult to find a window to get a solo bike shot. Go early!I love Monument Valley. I haver almost the same pic. But, how did you sneak the bikes in? I was there in '14, and I thought there was a sign saying "no motorcycles".
Damn. I was hoping they had removed that restriction. We folded the top back on the Jeep when we went, but going through via bike would be fantastic. Great pic either way.....That pic was taken from the visitor center lot and that's about as close as you can get on a bike (legally)....
