A new KLR, TW, or DS should pretty much have an MSRP of @ $25 bucks by now. :)
Maybe they should, but they don't. Used TWs around here are going for just a couple hundred buck less than a new one. Stupid high demand, and low supply. New ones are down to $4,800. A couple years ago they were $5,600.

Y'all complain about the lack of color choices on the Tenere. KTM does give choice of several choices: orange, black and white. Black, white, and orange. White. orange. and black . . . . :D

Enough horsepower, relatively low in weight, minimal electronic doo-dads.

I would really like to see a new wormed over version of the 990... what a great bike.

Well…… I am tentatively looking at a ”pre-owned” KTM 1090, yes, I love my S10 and every time I ride it I wonder what the heck am I thinking! But sometimes, the itch needs to be scratched. I like the 1090 (no longer made) because it doesn’t have all the electronics of the 1190 and 1290 it is also lighter and a bit smaller and I am getting older. I like the BMW S1000XR but, well it’s a BMW and it has lots of electrickery and the KTM is just that little bit rawer and has plenty of power for me at 125bhp. I am typing this and almost certainly will keep my S10 but you never know, I could have a rush of blood to the head or, (more likely) an extra glass of red wine or too many drams of Scottish single malt whisky!

Test rode this today.
I liked it way better than the street version that I rode a couple months ago. Didn't even feel like the same comparable bike at all.
Way smoother and very fun to ride.

That particular Italian girl makes me feel all funny "down there", been lusting after one since they first hit the market.

What did you think of it?

Well, like some others I will be converting to another brand. Normally after a test ride, getting back on the Tenere feels like home. I rode both the new 890 adventure and the current standard model Norden 901 last Friday. The test rides i took made getting back on the Tenere feel like a old lounge chair, comfy, but old. I preferred the overall look and feel of the Norden as opposed the the KTM adventure. Sitting side by side the KTM seemed unfinished. I did not like the so called windshields on either one. It was like not having one at all. The over all power difference was really apparent compared to the Tenere. Must be that born to race motto. The 890/901 engine is a beast. Even with not going over 6k rpm, the engine was crisp and tight. It should be, being brand new. The Tenere puts out more low end torque, but the 890 /901 is much faster reving, with faster acceleration. Dropping 100 pounds makes a difference too, handling, picking up and moving. Both bikes had full tanks. I was able to do lock to lock turns with them before leaving the parking lot. They both felt good right off the bat. I am putting a deposit down on the new Norden 901 Expedition tomorrow. My Tenere will be going up for sale soon.

100 hp...and 75 lbs of torque, it would not be "a beast" for me... surely the sensations of "beast" and acceleration, that it transmits, is due to its short final ratio

You found a 890 Adventure (non-R) that had a windshield? The screen with the hole in the middle of it? I've been watching for those to show up, and so far have never seen anyone posting a picture of actually having it.

I got to ride one and really liked a lot about it. The seating position was great and the lighter weight and engine were a lot of fun but in the end I was twisting the throttle and wanting more power.

Maybe if & when the new Mandello V100 engine comes in an adventure chassis.

I would second what Checkswrecks said.
Probable very nice and capable no hooligan bike but satisfying at the end of a log ride.
