Figured it would be a good thread to start here. Bet there are some creative things done by the users here buried in various thread going back years that would be good to have in all one place. One of my favorite thread on the F150 forum is a cheap/free modifications thread. Covering everything from locating the hidden USB port to just cutting a 2x6 to keep crap from shifting in the bed.

Here is one of my favorites for $15. Simple replacing the stock 12v cig lighter with a multi USB port and voltage meter. They make them in all sorts of configurations. I went with USB C and USB so I can use the fastest charging for my phone and still have a regular USB for anything else I might need to charge. HEre is the amazon link but for the one I went with. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R8JV1LX

Easy install, just unscrew the nut on the bottom of the factory 12v, snip the 2 wires and use 2 wire connectors to connect up to the new outlet. Be careful on install it does fit very tight into the hole. So make sure you have the display oriented the way you want it before you push it in. You do not have to take off any panels you can do the job in under 10 mins.

Garage door opener. For $13 easily the best money I have spent in terms of convenience on a bike. Make sure you can reach it with both hands if you have a steep driveway like me and need one on the brake to close it, and one on the clutch as you are pulling up.

This is the type of old doors with the dip switches, but they also make key chain remotes for modern multi frequency doors and such. I just stuck it to the wind deflector with some velcro so I can swap it between bikes, or take it off if I park in front of the house etc. Its been on there for 3000+ miles and was on my last bike in a similar location for 27,000. It never rains here, so its not a concern for me. Those in wet weather may want to just keep it in their jacket pocket.

At first I did not think I had a mod Under a $100. But then I thought of two. Most of my mods cost big time.

1. Seat mod to level. (Free )

2. Zert for gear shift

Rok Straps - If you use bungees to hold stuff to the bike, Rok Straps are infinitely better, come with 99% less risk of taking your eye out

Air horn - Had one on my Vee, but haven't gotten around to doing one on the S10. Amazing safety improvement
Air horn, how was the install and which product did you go with... Any suggestions in way of power usage?

I have the denali sound bomb (came with the bike) it has a nice wiring harness with relay and such. But man it is big. I think Id give the mini a try if I need one down the road. It is not an air horn but drastically louder than stock.

@MFP put one in. https://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?threads/what-you-did-to-your-tenere-today.1851/page-627#post-372662

Yes, but as I understand this 12 volt socket is fused at only two AMPS.
Hmmm. Limited use, so don't plug an air pump or anything else with a higher demand.

Never seen an air pump run off of a USB....
I put a 12v plug under the seat on an SAE connector incase I need to do something like that.

Seat mod and bar risers...everything else is way more than $100.
Yeah that is what other threads are for. This is just a good place for "oh why didn't I think of that cheap stuff". With bike stuff being so expensive I figured a $100 limit was better than their $50 limit.

Well, read my post again
It's not a USB socket but it is a 12 volt socket. (Round)
I bought my air pump from Walmart for under 20 bucks and it plugs into the 12 volt socket, but not the socket that Yamaha has on the Tenere.
I installed a 12 volt socket onto the handle bars which is capable of powering the air pump.
Hope this helps.

Missing my point. I took the 12v out and put in a usb. There is no USB powered air pump that I know of so I doubt I would ever run into that situation. If you bothered to as you put it "read my post" you would have seen that.

Ok, I understand what you have done, that is altering the bike's 12 volt socket.
There are 12 volt sockets available to mount easily onto the handle bars.
It's not often that you will have a flat tyre or tire, so I only plug my 12 volt handlebar socket that is shared with the battery tender when required.

For me, for less than 100, the best thing I did, was put a TPMS .... and I think not wrong, but its "value" far exceeds its "price"
That's something I really need to think about buying. Having a shaft has interrupted my every other day chain oiling where I would normally do my tire pressures. AKA my lazy ass stopped checking my tire pressures like I should.
