HaHa only in jest, each to their own and all that.
I say the above because I just completed a 3750 mile round trip of Spain with a GS'er who I didn't really know before the trip
We went Newhaven-Dieppe, crossed France to Pau, entered Spain via Laruns and dropped into Huesca.
From there on we only picked the miniscule roads that went through Sierras guaranteeing twisties all the way past Albacete to Almeria (I promised myself that I'd dip my toes in the med at the South of Spain).
From there we went north to the Sierra Nevada, moving west to Granada, and dropping a little towards Malaga, but not going there thank you very much, and up towards Cordoba.
From that point on, I wanted to see Extremadura, an area I know very little about, and proceeded up through Merida, Caceres, , Salamanca, Zamora and up to Leon where I had a rear tyre change in an excellent Yamaha dealership.
From there we went east, did the Picos, and onto Logrono, finally moving north to Pamplona and then over the mountains and back into France.
We went via Agen to the Dordogne where we stopped at Camping Moto Dordogne (a riot) and back home via Dieppe.
I live in London but my GS'er colleague lives near Rhyll in N.Wales so he stayed the night and moved off the following morning.
I say lightweights because it's a personal thing that for me, the trip is the holiday, and I have to go the distance to fully appreciate the journey as a whole. Granted not everyone has 3 weeks that they can take off.
I will post what pics I have as most is on video, and I don't know if I can post video here?
I can recommend some Sierras that will almost equal the Picos for their beauty.
Apologies to any Spanish speakers, being of that background, I should have learned by now how to do tildes and accents, so any tips would be appreciated.

then followed the south coast all around and up the east coast back into france over the pyrennes back up to le harve and home to cardiff.

Nice, how long did you take?
We camped all but 3 nights in hotels.
The reason was 3- fold, security (keeping the bikes close by) cost, often cheaper than hotels, and lastly, the ability to wash and dry clothes, much easier with a line near the tent.

Only 3,750 miles?......................
In August 2018 I did a 6,100-mile tour around the northwest US on my FJ1200.
Was a 19-day trip, and had the time of my life!
It was definitely all about the journey.

Yep - 3,750 is a trip to the Rockies and back for us. And the Rockies are just slightly past the half-way point to the West Coast. A bunch of folks did that last year for the Super Tenere Rally.

But the distance really didn't matter.

What miles per gallon did you get from your Super Tenere on this trip? Where in Spain is this Yamaha garage?

Now it's my turn to be the lightweight!!
In fairness to that sort of distance I'd have to cross a few countries and logistically that's a nightmare after Brexit atc. You can and stay in your country. Lucky thing.

This picture above is Alto De Erro near Pamplona, one of the Camino stopping points where you can get your stamp in the Camino book.
My colleague is in the picture, luckily his GS is obscured by my superior S10 with all the luggage on....

Thanks for that information.I had it in my head Super tenere were 45mpg bikes that would never do 60mpg.I am going to test ride 2 Tenere tomorrow. If you get to Gibraltar and go up to the top of the mountain on the cable car.hold on tight to everything as the monkeys take anything there.Enjoy your trip.
