Just put on a new Yoshi pipe today. Nice "bark", not too loud, but lets you know she's running. Nice extra "kick" when you hit 'er as well. So far am very impressed!

I fitted one a couple of weeks ago, very happy, nice deep sound at tick over but it's not too loud when on the road ::008::

Before I bought my Yosh slip-on a while back, it seems like I went through every possible youtube video I could find and playing it through my computer speakers to get an idea on how it would sound comparing to other brands. Very few videos really gave an idea, but I did find a few in HD. I had to trust it would be good compared to other prior Yosh systems I've ran on other bikes. The sound seemed okay on video with the few S10 recordings I could find, but not until I actually installed it and rode it on a few day trips did I really appreciate the extra growl and very mild increase in midrange and top end performance feel, most of it being noise of course. Subtle, but just enough to make it sound cool enough to justify the expense. I too like that it's not too loud, just right WITH the cat installed. Have not tried it with a header yet and no cat, not sure that I want to, sounds and rides pretty good with just the slip on to make just a little more noise. ::008::

I like my Yoshi can also. It sounds, looks and fits great. Very good quality for the price.

The only thing I don't like is that the allen screw that holds the noise reducing insert in place is tack welded on. There appears to be no easy way to remove the insert and get a little extra sound from this can. Is anyone else's Yoshi insert screw welded in?

My understanding is that there are two models, one meets EPA standards and one is for race track/off road only.

Yoshimura's website only shows one model for the S-10. The owners manual never mentions the insert or how to remove it but some youtube videos do show people removing the insert by first removing the allen screw. The tack weld is fairly small and I suppose I could take a small chisel and hammer to it but I am not sure that it is worth the risk of damaging something. I wish I could hear the exhaust without the insert but for now, that is on hold.

If I had to guess, I would say the earlier models of the Yoshi can (for the S-10 anyway) had a removable insert and the newer ones do not. A screw of any type INSIDE the opening is probably the worst possible way to secure an insert/baffle and I would guess several of them rattled loose and either went flying or fell down into the muffler....

From the research I have done, Arrow probably has the best method of securing the insert. A large circlip that is larger than the opening in the insert, that way it is impossible to drop the circlip into the muffler.

My first "real"ride with the Yoshi pipe and it seems to me that the perceived sound level when running down the pike is very similar to stock. I hear more bark when I'm getting on it, but at cruise it's nice and quiet. Riding buddy says it "sounds good". Bike seems a touch peppier and I actually Lifted the front wheel a smidgeon on a 1/2 shift and I don't think she's ever done that before. Also, it feels to me like the power delivery is smoothed out, esp. in S mode (wishful thinking??) . Anyway, I am VERY happy I went Yoshimuri!

So anyone that has the Yoshimura on the ST had to repack it yet? Details? Hours, miles when you found it necessary?

I just put on a Yosh RS4 as well and I have noticed the power delivery, especially in S mode, has smoothed out noticably. I recently posted such and am glad I am not the only one who has observed this! I like it!

I’m debating between the Yoshimura and the Dominator exhaust I found a clip of on YouTube. Sounds good and is half the price of the Yoshi. Anyone have any experience with it?
