I am new here, 2015 ES. I see D&H as a YES provider. Can someone point me to a good priced warranty dealer? Thanks
If you are still under the 1 year factory warranty, you can purchase the Yamaha Extended Service warranty and add up to 4 years more factory warranty. D&H Cycle in Cullman AL will give you the best price, but only over the phone. Call them at (256) 739-1840

If you are looking for an aftermarket warranty provider, there are several out there, but read the fine print.

+1 for D&H. This is one of the few Mom & Pop dealers left and they are very good people. I've bought warranties from them and I've spent time in their shop. They make you feel right at home.

First thing I want to say:
This forum is great, good info and helpful people.

Second: I bought a used 2012 ST, my first, a couple of weeks ago with about a month and a half left on the 4 yr. YES.
transferred the YES to my name on March 6th, verified thru Yamaha yesterday.
Read up about the renewal on this forum, called Renee at D & H today and mailed a $349 check, certified mail, just before the post office closed a bit ago.
I cannot be more ecstatic about this. So far so good.

I received my YES renewal from Yamaha yesterday, after contacting D & H Cycle in Cullman to process it

The 2012 is under warranty until April 2019......WOW.

$174.50 per year, I hope I do not need it but ya never know.

Thanks to all for posting the necessary info on this forum.

I just did the same thing on the 2016 I bought last month. Nice to be covered until 2016. It is a good deal. D&H was very helpful and efficient! Sent the check in and called to check in a week and it was finished. If I was closer, I ride down to them for service!

Edited to add: covered until 2021!

Recently purchased a 4 year YES warranty for my 2016 ES for $389 from D&H.

Was great talking with them like everyone else has previously mentioned. Mailed the check in on 3/24/2017, looks like the check showed as cashed/processed from my account around 4/7/2017.

One question though, will the YES documentation be coming from Yamaha or mailed from D&H?

It will come from Yamaha directly. You will get a sheet with a card for your wallet that has your VIN and the terms of the YES warranty period, along with the full terms of the YES contract.

Romney's 'Finance Dept' which deals with YES warranty quoted a Tiered price reaching $660 for 4 yrs.
Quick call to D&H and quick and no-nonsense price of $389. I will still put it to Romney if they can match the D&H price.
If not D&H get my money.

YES paperwork came in the mail today!

One final question just to ensure that my paperwork is in order - I assume it is and that D&H simply needed to put in my VIN and YES spit out what it wanted from there on my YES documentation.

So the VIN is 17 characters: Say along the lines of JYADP01E8GA000123 (not my actual VIN#). For the YES document's listed serial number it makes sense that JYA (J=Japan, YA = Yamaha) not being needed, same for 8GA (8= check digit, G = 2016, A = Plant). Leaving DP01E & 000123 for the actual vehicle identification / SN.

From this the YES documentation has the following Serial Number: DP01E 0000123 (I would have expected DP01E 000123 - I just want to ensure that there isn't a typo with my YES document with the extra 0 in the YES serial # field)

Does this seem to be inline with everyone else's documentation (ie 12 characters instead of 11 filled in for the SN)? I expect that it is all in order, but I just wanted to confirm that I don't need to request correction or anything.

I went through something like this on a different make vehicle last year when the insurance company computer put a 0 in place of an open space and it was no problem as far as the dealer or manufacturer, but it was with the State on registration. They had to have the same as the insurance company.

In your case I wouldn't worry, as you have the date/lot/serial string complete. If you ever need to use the YES it is the technician at the dealer who will put the number into Yamaha's database, so you know he will be guided in format.

Rambler,
Talk to Larry the General Manager if you need to, as Romney generally will match lowest prices.

I just looked at my YES warranty papers and they are as you described, a shortened version of the VIN number.

Just curious, Is the YES warranty the Yamaha Extended Warranty they offer, that you can buy for up to 4 years after the factory warranty runs out?
YES = Yamaha Extended Service and you can buy up to 4 years beyond your 12 month factory warranty. It's best to buy it before you factory warranty runs out though. So the answer to your YES question is YES!

Minor point of fact, you MUST buy the extended YES contract before the original 12 month warranty runs out. If you wait until the original, (US), 12 month warranty runs out, you will not be eligible to extend it with the 12 to 48 month YES warranty contract.

FWIW, I bought a left over, used, 2015 last week. I checked prior to buying it by calling Yamaha in Cypress, CA and giving them the VIN. They told me it was still under the original 12 month warranty until 8/1/17, which was a factor in my choosing that bike. Today I transferred the warranty into my name, (took about a minute at the local dealer), and then they offered me a close match to the D&H price for the 48 month YES, so now I am covered until 8/2/21. ::015::

Stoked, I am. ;D

Got my registration done at DMV and transferred my plate over to the new bike as well.

Little bit of miscommunication between Larry / finance guy and confirmation coming to me. It now appears that tax of 7% will be charged by Romney. I had already paid the $389 so went along with the tax also. Not worth the hassle of refund etc...
While D&H was total 'OTD' $389.
