I have the new Yamaha tank bag on mine. It looks good . one thing I don't like is the rain cover is not attached to the bag. I like to be able to just pull the cover out of a pocket and cover the bag on the go. I might make my own cover in the pocket near the seat. It has lots of room and is easy to use.

Its the best bag I've ever had for a bike. I've played around with Nelson Rigg and Cortech for my FJR and always got into a steering lock with them. Not this one. It's roomy and actually made for the bike. I figured they were just padding the Adventure Touring package, but it's probably the best luggage accessory in the package. ::009::

I've got the yammi tank bag as well. It's made for the bike...so it fits. Really easy to take off so you can gas her up and thats probably another good reason to have a bag thats specifically made for the bike.

Has huge capacity too. Glasses pouch handy as well. Cheap....need I go on?

The tank bag is pretty awesome. The only thing I wish it had was a port for charger cables or for headphone cables. I ended up just running the cords from the bikes accessory plug and zip the bag all the way on that side.

I picked up one from a fellow member here and am more than pleased with it. Very useful size and does not interefere with the bars at full lock. Highly recommended.

I did hear one case - from Wasp I believe - of it rubbing some paint off the tank. Keep an eye on it...

I also think this is a darn good tank bag. Fits perfect, very useful size (and expandable), nice set of features.

Most tankbags do poorly with crosswinds, but this one stays very nicely planted, I think because of the magnets.

I also like the straps on the side to hold sundries you need to carry up to the hotel room. I often end up with my shoes/sandals strapped somewhere on the bike because I can't afford the space in my luggage - the straps allow me to bind them to the bag and carry things more easily. The carrying handle is comfortable too (or you can use the provided shoulder strap).

With respect to tank abrasion, I don't think there is any more problem with this tank bag than any other. If you have grit under the tank and it is moving around, you're going to get scratching, but with some reasonable care, I've never had any issue with any tank bag. With 5200 miles on this one, my tank looks fine to me, but I'm not one who expects the paint on a motorcycle like this to stay absolutely perfect as I use the bike. If it concerns you, you can tape the tank where it contacts the bag.

I can attest to this as well. I'm on a trip in Texas and the head and cross winds have been terrible. The bag does not move around at all.

As long as you get the rear strap centered at the bottom of the tank and cinched tight, i havent been able to get to move it around without physical intervention......

I've got some - but need to first download them off my camera on the other computer (can't seem to do photos on an iPad)

Thanks guys!
The Yamaha tank bag looks good on the bike.

Hey Fred,
Is that the TT windscreen bracket you have on your bike?
What do you think of it?

Hi Walt,

That is the Wasp adjustable bracket and I like it. The MRA Vario screen is a big improvement, even without the adjustable bracket.

Fred, how do you rate the two together? I have the Wasp bracket and am quite happy with it and the stock screen. I have used The MRA Vario screens on a couple of my V-Stroms and felt they were good, but not as good as when using a Madstad bracket and the stock screen.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Rod
