It’s from the bottom of a reservoir. Water line is way down. It has been one of the driest summers I can remember. And the damn smoke is back B3FB81A0-426E-4B40-A9B4-FF245C98833A.jpeg

Congratulations on the bike. . . . but, were still looking for a picture of a lake to go along with it. :)
Oh right, got ahead of myself with excitement, hopefully will be getting lots of great pics soon.

How will we know it is a "natural" lake, as long as they don't show a dam.

So, you're gonna be one of those guys. :D But, you're right. Count me out. There's not a lake around here that wasn't formed by a dam.

Where does 'pond' end and 'lake' begin? Might be able to find a fairly sizeable pond to call a lake? My local Lodi Lake is just a large pond pretty much, I can just about throw a rock across... though it does have a dam.

Ditto. Except. . . . for some reason, ponds around here are called "tanks". As in water tanks. The word pond is not used. o_O

We forgive you. I'm actually glad to see there is something interesting in Section 1. I still need to do 1 through 3.
Sections 2 and 3 are great. Proximity allows me to do parts of each on a regular basis.

Ponds and lakes are both inland bodies of freshwater that contain living creatures. Lakes are normally much deeper than ponds and have a larger surface area. ... All the water in a pond is in the photic zone, meaning ponds are shallow enough to allow sunlight to reach the bottom .

LOL, then Lodi Lake is a pond created by a dam. I really should add that Lodi Lake is an irrigation holding basin for both a lot of our treated water and the Woodbridge Irrigation District. Let's get back to the next Tag.

Does this mean a natural lake expanded by a dam qualifies? We have a number of those.
