New idea for a Yamaha Super Tenere Heating System (Easy to make)
Function:
This design is a add on Heating system that uses a portion of the hot air exhausted from the radiator and redirects this Hot air inside the riders coat.
Design:
The hot air collector is mounted on the hot air exhaust side of the radiator. At the end of the collector a hose is attached that fits inside the riders jacket that stops about the middle of the chest. See attached pictures

Testing:
• With the collector installed the engine temperature runs on average 5 to 8 degrees above normal running temperatures. Would remove the collector if the ambient temperatures are above 70 degrees or riding in a lot of slow moving traffic .
I would not recommend connecting the collector hose if the ambient temperature is above 65 deg. F as the rider will get uncomfortable “to warm”‘.
• At a 42 degrees outside temperature and 70 Miles per hour the system delivers a constant flow of warm air inside the riders coat. At slower speeds the air flow is reduced as air flowing through the radiator is reduced.

Good idea!
The Goldwing 1500 SE had a vent near the feet that when opened would direct warm air on each foot. It made a big difference while winter riding.

I ride year round in NY... Love the idea. Uses wasted heat, Saves electrics and will allow engine to run warmer when the temps are in the 20's or below. Would love any details

Why are you doing that Tenman? I have done adout a 300 mile day ride in 110+ degree weather in the desert and can't feel any uncomfortable heat coming off the motor.
