 Get your XT1200Z Super Tenere Guards

Fellow Super Tenere owners. I have a few items to offer to protect and farkle your new ride and keep it looking its best.
I have made similar items for V-Strom and KTM owners for years and in my excitement for my new XT12, this is what I have come up with.
I am very pleased with them and hope you like them as well. ;D

XT1200Z Gas Tank Side Panel Guards:

As you probably have already seen, the gas tank side panels are very susceptible to scuffs and scratches from your knees. I made these side panel guards to address this issue.

They are made from a scratch resistant, UV stable, clear 3M Aerospace Urethane protective film specifically made to protect from scratches and abrasions.
The material is very easy to apply and comes with complete installation instructions.

Note that these will work in conjunction with the WaspWorks graphics, or the Tenere dude rear tank guard should you have those on your bike.

Here are the way they will arrive.

This is once installed.

XT1200Z Gas Tank Rear Guard:

I made this to protect the rear area of the Tank from scuffs and scratches from your jacket and to work in conjunction with the Side Panels.
This also allows an area for the WaspWorks graphics.

After installation

XT1200Z Fork Tube Guards:

These are really nice and very helpful. With the nice gold textured fork tubes, they are very susceptible to rock dings and bug guts getting into the textured surface.
This surface makes cleaning the un-protected fork tubes a pain.
These guards go over this area and protect from rocks and other debris dinging the surface but also make cleaning bug guts a snap since it does not stick to the film surface.

Here they are installed on the fork tubes, covering all of the textured area.

XT1200Z Headlight Guards:

These are cut to fit the Super Tenere Headlights perfect which is no easy task considering the contours of the lens.
The material will protect from flying debris, rocks and bugs, stays clear, and is easy to clean.

Here they are installed.

XT1200Z Exhaust Shield Mask:

If you are like many here on the forum that don’t like the look of the giant silver stock exhaust shield and want to improve on the look, take a look at this mask that I made to make the shield blend in better.
This is made of 20mil heavy mask material and is cut to fit the inset just perfect.
It is almost black when installed but in direct sun the silver comes through and really looks nice.

Check it out.

Devin, those look terrific! Are they removable? I am always nervous about applying anything to a painted surface. If it is ever damaged while protecting my paint, I'm just wondering if I can remove and replace with a fresh one? I also worry cuz I suck at getting anything symmetrical. If I get one side on crooked, can I remove and re-apply? this is not a show stopper, just wondering. Thanks, Paul

No problem Paul, good question. Yes, they are removable. The 3M adhesive comes off clean with the Urethane with no damage to the paint.

They come with very complete detailed instructions on how to install. You basically float them on a solution to get in the perfect position and then squeegee into position.
If you are off, you can pull them up and spray the solution again and try again.

I dry fit with the adhesive liner in place first and put a few pieces of masking tape down on the paint as a target for a few edges to amke sure of symmetry first.

Thanks Greg. Note the mention of your WaspWorks decals and the capability for these to work in conjunction with them. ;D

Yep, got mine today. You weren't kidding about fast shipping. Installed them tonight. Very nice stuff. Took me a while to assemble all my squirt bottles, but went very smoothly following your directions. Thanks again for supporting our bikes.

Thanks to all the guys for your support. I just sent out an email with a slight change to the solutions for mounting. It will make it easier but is not absolutely neccessary so please check your emails.

Got mine yesterday, order-to-my-house---27 hours. Great service, thanks! The instructions say set-up is 15-20 hours and fully dried/cured in 72 hours. I'm installing the side tank guards, so how long of a wait before you can ride again?

I would suggest doing it in the afternoon and letting them dry overnight. You will be fine to ride the next day. The full curing is for the residual moisture that may be visible under the material. That may take a few extra days. Thanks.

So how do they come off? Just warm the up a little and pull them off carefully like any other sticker? (ie, like the yamaha OEM stickers?)
