Ride with me to the Arctic and you'll be 40 again also. :D
Tempting, emotionally, I assure you. (Bucket list type desire)
But I know good and well I just can't hang with you anymore. Not for a multi-day run like that. You WIN!!! I surrender.

I had 2-2000's. And 1 2400is.
All 3 were great.
But they all got shipped to Puerto Rico. So I'm waiting on a 3000iseb
With the toy hauler ramp, the extra weight won't be an issue?

I do my share of riding, you sir are an animal!

I'v been through South Pass City back when my Super Tenere was new. Time to go again I recon. If you would not mind, how about posting map points or coordinates for a couple of the more the remote places you were in WY and UT. I would like to see if those trails show up on my Garmin maps. I have the 390 LM and it does have quite a few unpaved routs in it.

I also have ridden several times through the Nebraska panhandle and it is really pretty. Where is the rt 12 you mention? I cant find it and always looking for another nice ride. Southern Nebraska and I80 are to be avoided at all costs! Here is a random point in the middle of a cool stretch in the panhandle. It is a one lane ranch road, but it is PAVED! It is kind of cool and it rolls through some very pretty country.

I am trying to convince a couple friends to tackle Alaska with me in 2019.

Thanks for the write up. Wyoming is among my favorite places to ride.

Thanks for reading Bigbore4

I don't use a gps so I have no tracks or coordinates
That 12 breaks off of 20 along the top of Nebraska

Don't put off that Alaska ride, It's a blast!
I'm still working on my wife to ride back up there with me again.

Thanks for sharing this trip. Beautiful views and roads.

Is this anything like your return route https://goo.gl/maps/1wgPEuYLdNH2

Where were you checking the weather? Is there anything other than The Weather Channel?

That would be the route except I went up the very west side of Nebraska on 29

I don't ride with a phone or any thing to keep me in the know.
My weather channel is other folk I meet along the way.

That's a great write up. I haven't made it to Wyoming yet, but you've given me some places to add to the list.

I always used to hear people talk smack about Nebraska, but I rode through there back in 2015 and I thought it was really beautiful.

Thanks RCinNC

I really don't mind riding across Nebraska, I just don't cross it on the Interstate if my wife is with me. And try to avoid interstates as long as I have the time.
The states that I haven't figured out how to enjoy crossing are Illinois or Indiana.

Same here. I don't do the interstate thing unless I actually have to be somewhere at a certain time. And I try not to plan a ride that I ever have to be somewhere at a certain time LOL.

Indiana's one state I haven't been in yet. As far as Illinois goes, I only went through enough of it to say that I'd been there. Came up through the Land Between the Lakes in KY, crossed the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers right there in Cairo, and then was in Missouri before I could even blink. I have a concealed carry permit and a LEOSA permit, but riding through Illinois while I'm armed still makes me nervous.

Kansas almost did me in. I've crossed it three times now, and it's always been a real slog (especially in mid summer). No offense to any native Kansans intended, but for a Northeast boy like me, all that flatness and horizon really puts the zap on me.

There's a couple good routes across Indiana, down south. Make sure you ride Brown County. Actually quite a bit of decent riding there. Illinoise, not so much so. We found a couple decent routes along the rivers, but to actually cross it west to east aint no good way.

I did a 9k mile ride this past summer. I am proud to report I did lass than 100 miles interstate!

I know there is some very nice roads in Illinois and Indiana but like you said just crossing west to east has always been a nasty ride for me. [ugly]

I see I'm a month and a half late to this thread. Nice write-up, Steve.

I rather enjoyed riding from your house (or at least town) across Nebraska to Wyoming...even on the interstate. Was really amused by how much immediate change there was crossing the Wyoming border.

We did see a Tenere rider in Nebraska going the other way on the interstate. He seemed so excited to see other Teneres. He was waving to us as large as life. Probably never seen another Tenere before.
