I think it's good to compare and realize that brakes are a very important part of our machines. I'm really curious as to what my brake wear is going to be during my service over the next few weeks. I am reading strange threads/posts where the rear pads wear first and the inner pads of the right front caliper wear down quicker than the outer one. I'll make sure to document all the measurements and post them up to compare to others.
I may be wrong but if the pistons are only on one side of the calipers they will not wear evenly.

the piston is only on one side on the rear caliper, front calipers are both sides and as chris says they tend to wear on one side more on the front

In my Super Tenere experience, rear pads definitely wear quicker than fronts. I had one pad on one front caliper wear faster than the other three. Note, I thoroughly clean and bleed my calipers every winter.

Just my preference - I didn’t think the OEM pads were up to the job I expected from them, so swapped them out early, for HH EBC pads. I’m now on my second set and am happy with the improved braking performance. Fronts have been on HH for about 15k miles and I cannot detect any noticeable disc wear.

Rear disc - I took the EBC HH out early and went back to OEM, as the disc was suffering.

All my riding is on tarmac and I do quite a lot of my riding on tour, in the hills and mountains, usually with others and therefore heavy on the brakes.

I deviated from OE on my RAM, and ruined two rotors. I deviated from OE on the Honda, and ruined a set of underwear.
