My wife desires to ride a motorcycle, so I'm looking for a trainer. Does anyone have a Reflex or know of one for sale, preferably on the west coast?

Those were rare birds. I havent seen one posted for sale in a long time here on west coast. No chance shed prefer something easier to get and maintain like a TW? Prices are reasonable and theyre super reliable and easy to ride.

+1 with Highwayman. I mean, if you just want/have to get the Honda, I get it. But, if you're looking for easy & and fun. . . . go with the TW 200. Low to the ground, go anywhere, 70mpg, and will do highway speeds. My wife tried re-learning with a KLR; scared her, and said it was too tall/heavy. She instantly fell in love with the TW; put 75 mile on it in a week. . . . in our yard. My FJR kid says it's the "funnest" bike he's ever ridden.

The Honda does look cool. Like a trials bike with a seat, and lights.

Those were ahead of the time in the mid to late 80s. Back when Honda was really a thinker when it came to bikes and they were always trying different ideas. The Reflex, Transalp, FatCat, NR, Odysseys, CB1 and Hawk GT are a few of the very cool short lived odd balls.

Honda was a different giant in the 80s and were really putting out great bikes then. CR, XR, CBR, VFR, ATC and Fourtrax were the staple of great bikes at the time.

They must have been a good seller around Boise. I’ve seen numerous ones on CL and Facebook classifieds last fall.

I just bought a 2015 Suzuki TU250X with 2400 miles. Excellent little bike with a low seat height, bulletproof engine. It is fuel injected, so no choke to mess with. I like that with my wife, as it’s a no brain easy ride.

I may be selling it this spring as I had some unforeseen medical bills.

By chance I found a 1976 TL250 for $1400. It mostly complete, runs good and has a few upgrades. The biggest issue I will have to deal with is a non existing STOCK muffler and spark arrester. Photos to follow.

When I got back into riding in 2010, I picked up left over 2009 TU250x. I just bought to use as a commuter and running around town. It turned out to be so much better than that. I kept finding myself taking it longish rides on 2 lane county roads. It had a real sweet spot between 55-65. Then I got the idea that I wanted to do motorcycle touring, so I traded the little TU250x on a honda NT700V. If I could go back, I would have just kept the TU250X. The NT was great out on the highways, but it simply wasn't near as fun as the TU or DR650 running around town. It is hard to describe exactly what it was that I miss about it, but I just remember this pure, simple joy of riding a motorcycle with the TU. I took it everywhere I could and in weather I rarely ride in now. It is probably similar to memories of your first car, but I sure did like that little bike.

I find I just love riding the tux around. It is so easy. Starts right up at the touch of a button, and my wife, daughter, son’s girlfriend want to ride it because it’s so easy. Decided to keep it. They quit making them, too bad.
