gen 1 bikes had a very few small issues with cct so they recommend when the valve service is due change the cct as well,

the gen 2 had a upgraded cct so you should be ok, of course at cct interval changes that,ll still need doing, my gen1 has 24000 miles on it and is noisy, was going to wait till the valve service but after listing to that quiet bike i,ve ordered my APE cct ready to go in

I did mine over the winter and it was better for sure.
I don't think you will ever find a quiet S10, but I feel better knowing a tensioner failure is no longer an issue.
I did mine without valve cover removal. No issue if you are careful.

I plan on doing an adjustment check every spring.
