Oooops! You're right ... he was. ::) I spoke to the Yamaha UK MD about the WC and he reckoned that they had no intention of producing any of those parts. Apparently, the rear of the bike is completely different to a Tenere. The exhaust is also unlike the current Akrapovic offering ... way better looking, it being more slender. We'll see. In the UK if some one says that something is not going to happen it generally means that it will. ;)

Sometimes a company won't sell them direct under the Yamaha name in this case, but I wonder if Akrapovic aftermarket division would be inclined to sell these? If Yamaha has the control of this part, then maybe not. Hmm, intersting.

I think for an inquiry, I would have to know how many of these people would be willing to purchase!!!

I know this is a hard one to say since the price sometimes sways a buying decision.

I contacted the World Crosser design team to ask about possible accessories or modifications on the bike such as the Kevlar body panels if they may be available for sale to the general public and here is what they said.

"Dear Bill
Thank you for your interest and inquiry. The WORLD CROSSER Kevlar body parts are prototypes for exhibition purpose. As we have been informed officially by YAMAHA MOTOR EUROPE, these parts will not be produced in series as an accessory.
Thanks for your understanding."

So will we ever get the panels? I think them alone will sell, more than the Gas tank and fairings!!!
Actually Jeff, I plan to make my own out of the black panels that are OEM with the USA model.
Should be easy peasy and get the look just right...and easy weekend "thing to do"

Fear not .... I'm certain that some enterprising outfit will sort some very trick parts. In fact I know chap that'll be looking to do some custom work.
