I've known about the 660, but never even heard of a 250. I would think that there would be a huge market in the US for the 250.

1AF12975-1F61-4373-81AD-AC42B82FD4AA.jpegI went for a ride today organized by Honda Powerhouse Mexico City. A very diverse group with sport bikes, cruisers, naked, dual sport and bikes ranging from 250 to 1200. It was nice to ride with such a varied range of bikes and also brands. No snobby my bike is bigger, faster better BS. A group of BMW riders passed us on the highway with their noses in the air as usual. I was happy not to be with them.

The 250 is a nice little bike and looks a lot more like the ST than the 660. My neighbour has 5 or 6 which he uses as paramedic motorcycles. A very good idea in a city with traffic problems like Mexico City.

Riding down Baja to Los Cabos is definitely on my list!

I go to Mexico City often with my job and enjoy just watching motorcyclists do their daily activities! I'm amazed at not only rider skill....but how well a 250cc or even 125cc bike can carry 2 people and a load through Mexico City traffic! I learn a lot from watching! Guessing the helmet laws are strict because I rarely see anyone without a helmet?

Good call on the whale watching. I understand timing is critical and there's a short window. I did that a few years ago from San Ignacio, and literally hugged and petted baby whales from a 6-person dinghy. There were 10 of us, me on the S10. Leaving from SF Bay Area we only went as far as Mulege (2600 MI round trip) . Also a couple of us went early morning fishing in Bahia. There is one 200-mile stretch leading into Guerrero Negro with no gas stations. The S10 had no problem with that. But I carried an extra gallon in case because the group tended to move at 90 mph most of the time.

In a lot of stores in Mexico the following system works. First you ask for what you want, then you pay at the cash register with a different person, then you go to the delivery point where yet another person gives you your puechase. This system is to eliminate theft. In some stores there may be another person sitting on top of staies/ladder watching the whole process.

My last non motorcycle related post, at least for today. In one of the World’s largest cities it is always nice to see a human touch. In this case a fruit seller working from the back of a pickup. As he is not allowed to stop on the street he was quickly stopping to sell and then moving on at a walking pace.
Food is never far away in Mexico.

It has been a while since I last posted. It was difficult to get gas here for about a month. Things seem to be better but this is Mexico so we will have to wait and see. B4638D8F-F7FF-4EEB-873C-B5BDA59FE694.jpegE5780316-015C-4F57-8476-DA39A2A75B04.jpeg

It took an hour and 20 mins of standing in line snd pushing the bike to get a full tank.

Now the gas crisis is over I went for a ride yesterday. 8F248C26-E350-40B9-BFA4-791E0F4470D5.jpegE3DACBD6-2CF3-4BB1-B257-01E326E52D69.jpeg37435856-3A24-4F61-8610-C6EDAA37E31F.jpeg

The picture of the drug store is the place you should get your meds from. If you buy on a Monday you get an extra 25% off. You can also see the doctor for about 1.5 USD. Not the best doctors in Mexico but good enough for stomach infections etc.

I went for a Thursday ride today because it’s Thursday. I rode about 320 kms in total. I rode across all of Mexico City and then to Pachuca. From there I rode into the mountains and went to Real de Monte and Huasca de Ocampo. From Huasca I went to see a big rock called Pena del Aire. Real del Monte was a mining town and a lot of my English countrymen went from Cornwall to Real del Monte. They brought with them soccer and Cornish Pasties. The number of shops selling pasties is amazing far out stripping taco places. A great day with a little bot of dirt and even a double decker tourist bus. Here are some pics. 0CCD3524-1CA9-48F5-9CD2-AD15327FD270.jpeg6B9C5AD0-C3BA-497C-9B7B-C0F732F7E009.jpeg
